    I don't understand why people are so against him getting some kind of recognition at least. Its as if he did something to personally attack you and you are holding a grudge. We don't want him to tour again, just be acknowledged. How dare we!

    Honestly, who gives a shit? "Pearl Jam" is getting in. Does it really matter if the Hall doesn't include a guy who played drums on two albums? Regardless of what members get inducted/invited, the band and its music are in. If that means Dave A to you, then that's all that matters. If it means Jack to you, that's all that matters. If it means all five to you, that's all that matters. This is silly to sit here and beat the dead horse over and over.

    I can't understand why people are making such a stink over a drummer who's not much better than average.

    Jack Irons had way more influence on Pearl Jam's sound, got them together & kept them together after Dave's departure, but all anybody cares about is some scrub who didn't have all that much impact in the grand scheme of things and as mentioned prior, couldn't adapt to the band, so they fired him.

    That's my $0.02.

    I think some people like to carry Eddie's torch for him and can't think objectively.

    Yeah, he effed up by not navigating the personalities of the band correctly. However his drumming was still awesome. He did get lucky that Ten blew up but he definitely held his own musically for those 3 critical years.

    This is about recognizing talent and contribution to the music scene. I think his drumming helped drive the live shows and Vs and Vitalogy and should be recognized. That's just my opinion.

    Pretty much all of this. I don't think anyone is saying that MC *shouldn't* be getting in - just that Dave A should *also* be recognized. Fair is fair. And not to get into it, but Dave K getting inducted over Dave A would be like Dave Navarro getting in with Red Hot Chili Peppers just because he was in the band for what was little more than a hot minute.

    Boom Gaspar really ought to be acknowledged for this as well. Not sure if anyone else has mentioned that.

    Really cool interview. Seems like a very humble guy and, as he says himself, it seems as though the other guys played a part in that maturity.
