    Ah, don't hate on the kid. He's built his site out of nothing but love for bands we like too. He's only in his mid-20's and has a love for music that seems to be going extinct.

    Consequence of Sound built their site out of nothing, don't you want a site that reports on things you're interested in, rather than having to scour several different boards? Frankly I'm happy to have some "news" or at least input about a genre I care about as opposed to a constant media barrage about what Kanye, Taylor, and Kim are doing.

    Is it not just essentially a gossip site about rock music? Yes that could be considered "fake news", but its not like the site is actually leading with stories like "Canada surrenders all of it's arms to China"...like some intentionally fake stories. It's simply providing entertainment. The internet in some ways is like going to the grocery store, you can pick up the New York Times and know that you're consuming "real news" or you can pick up one of the gossip mags.

    With the two links provided above, I see your point, but at the same time, Alternative Nation goes beyond the original story and provides some additional info about what DA was talking about in October. It does add to the story, and for some people who don't have time to scour the boards of all their favourite musicians, it does provide updates, rumours and gossip that would be found on places like this forum for entertainment value.

    the hate on that site and its owner is unbelievable. some of it is fluff. he readily admits that. but I go there for a tonne of my music news so I don't have to scour the 'net all day to get what I want.

    the kid started a blog in high school and now he scores fucking interviews with legit musicians. mike mccready was one of them. and he became scott weiland's (his hero) social media manager. props to him.

    It's fake. There was no 'major update.' They made that up.

    No hate. Just curious why they exaggerate so much. I the big scheme of things, they're not important. However, it's one more example of fake news.

    My gripe is probably more with Google for indexing them in Google News. I will direct my disgust at them instead.

    it's not fake news. it's simply attention grabbing (sometimes mildly misleading) headlines so you will click on their article so they can generate more ad revenue. it's how it works.
