No worries. I'll take my issue up with Google News

No hate. Just curious why they exaggerate so much. I the big scheme of things, they're not important. However, it's one more example of fake news.

My gripe is probably more with Google for indexing them in Google News. I will direct my disgust at them instead.
it's not fake news. it's simply attention grabbing (sometimes mildly misleading) headlines so you will click on their article so they can generate more ad revenue. it's how it works.
Completely fake. There was no update... let alone a "major update." He basically read an opinion piece on a legitimate news website and mashed it together with some stuff posted months ago on Facebook and called it a major update. I think our standards for reliable news have fallen so far that no one bats an eye at that bullshit.
    --------------------

Depends on you definition of "major update"...seems like you were personally offended by the use of that term. To him maybe it was a major update. Maybe he was that excited about PJ being likely inducted. I don't get the hate.

Personally, I hadn't seen the results of the poll since I voted back it October. But you're mad at him for giving a poll update just days before the polls closed? Sure it entices one to click on the story, but I would have had more of a chance to see that update on his site rather than cleveland.com

I work hard as the sole news reporter on my site with no backing from a conglomerate like the Ultimate Classic Rocks and Loudwires of the world have. I run an independent outlet, so I have to focus on highlighting certain things for headlines (like most other sites do as well). If I didn't I'd need to start writing about Beyonce and Bieber instead and not write about the bands I love. When I do post dumb stories, I try to have a sense of humor with them with funny photoshops and stuff like that. I understand criticism but the vitriol I get sometimes I just don't understand. It's incredibly difficult to run a website totally DIY with daily content.

I'd prefer to just do headlines like 'News On Pearl Jam's Rock Hall of Fame Chances From New Cleveland.com Editorial' but people will not read things like that anymore as people generally don't go on websites and read articles for news, they get all of their headlines off of social media feeds which only show headlines based on certain buzzwords. The internet has changed a lot since sites like Facebook and Google have monopolized the way people consume their news/blog content.

Good for you, it's been pretty cool to see the site grow over the years. I wish I had a job that I was more passionate about, and I for one am glad to see the progress you've made doing what you love, getting more connected to the musicians for interviews, etc... Nice to see a site reporting on something other than reality stars and sugar pop celebs who I don't know and couldn't care less about.

By the way... the comments on that Cleveland.com article are hilarious.
