Introspection from Democrats and an honest assessment of what happened here would be good to see. It's true, there has not been much of that yet.

Of course the aging old guard doesn't want to step down. Why would they? People's natural instincts is to protect themselves. The question is who is the new guard? Obama was ahead of the curve and his generation. But where are the other leaders? And how do the Dems stop being a coastal party, which really played out in this election. What are the policies that brings the older, white, lower to middle class mid westerners back into the fold?
Honestly...I don't know. Not for sure. But I do think it starts with remembering how to talk to those older, white voters and not mocking or ridiculing them all the time. I completely misjudged how the "deplorable" comment resonated in some circles. I laughed at it and that is my bad. The Democrats cannot make that mistake again.
She was clearly talking about the racists that pollute Trump's voter base.. the alt-right, Leninist types who offer nothing productive to this world, only destruction. But I get your point. Making the comment, whether it's true or not, gave ammunition to be manipulated. She should have learned the lesson of 2012 when Romney got mauled for the "46% taker" comment. The bottom line is that a POTUS is the POTUS of everyone, whether they voted for you or not. Attack the candidate, not the voter.

You can't expect someone who believes fake news, to actually understand what fake news is.

conservatives might be more likely to fall for fake news
40 studies were reviewed on differences in this need for cognition between liberals and conservatives. Of those, 25 showed a "significant, negative" association between need for cognition and right-wing orientation. In all but three of the others, there was a similar negative association but it wasn't statistically significant.

In other words, liberals were slightly more predisposed to think critically than conservatives.

But we knew that already, didn't we?

Will democrats ever stop punching themselves in the face? Weak outcome for the Dems means that they will win the next election according to Pelosi. She sees no reason to change ANYTHING within the party.

It's Cenk from TYT, worth seeing when you get a chance.

If there is even a whiff of Russian involvement it should be investigated. What argument is there against that?

Oh I don't know, the Dems who refuse to acknowledge that they had a weak candidate with a weak campaign, and one of the 2 most unpopular candidates in US history? Seeking refuge in blaming and investigating Russia as the culprit does NOT help this weakened party. It makes them look worse as they continue to drop responsibility and seek blame elsewhere STILL - 4 1/2 weeks later.

This isn't (or shouldn't be) a partisan issue. There is a chance a foreign government sought to covertly influence the outcome of our election. Of course it should be investigated. That the Democrats have not carried themselves well does not change that.

An investigation isn't seeking refuge in anything.

Brilliant move on the Dems part to claim Fake News is responsible for Clinton's loss. The Dems can then justify not having to do any self-reflection on their many problems with the election, never have to make any changes, and continue with business as usual. Democrats will do ANYTHING to avoid self-reflection rather than change policy or strategy.

    Weak campaign?
80,000 people in 3 states decided this election
    vs
2,600,000 popular vote margin across 50 states
That's hardly what I would consider weak.

It's weak when their candidate was one of the two most popular candidates in US history... then LOST. It's weak that they can't accept responsibility for their loss. It's weak when they keep blaming Russia for their problems. It's weak when they're using the "fake news" news stories to push their agenda. (Ahem, above)

    Weak, weak, weak.
