    seriously the butthurt since Trump won is astounding...grow up and accept the loss...now you want to change the whole process, a process that has worked since the beginning because your person didnt win???

    not sure how anyone can think the electoral college is a good thing ... regardless of where you sit in the political spectrum ... it's about as undemocratic of an electoral system out there ... you could have 49.9% of a state's population vote for a candidate and it means absolutely nothing ...

    the rationale that certain states would dictate everything is also absurd ... any kind of proportional representation would actually allow people who live in partisan states like california and texas to actually have meaningful votes ... you vote R in California now and it means nothing ... you vote D in texas now and it means nothing ... change the electoral system and make those votes matter ...

    Yes, I do. I want progress on climate change, civil rights, equality, pollution, money in politics, and many other issues.     In theory. But just look at the map from yesterday. You're saying that those states with the most people won't influence most of the vote?
    That doesn't make sense. A state can't influence the vote. If a state goes 60/40, those 40% still have their input.

    In 2012 Donald Trump said "the electoral college is a disaster for democracy", so he even agrees. Also he received less votes than McCain and Romney, the problem Clinton didn't even come close to getting the votes Obama got...2 terrible candidates and someone was going to win...

    Correct but my posts says "projected", they haven't counted all the votes yet, as a matter of fact it took California 5 weeks to officially tally the primary votes.

    I'm interested to hear if people would be saying to end the electoral college if it was the other way around and Hillary won the electoral college vote and Trump won the popular vote...

    This thread gets started no matter who won.

    I think the electoral college made sense in the beginning with a smaller population that could potentially have a group take over.

    I've never understood why it wouldn't just be a simple count of the popular vote for president.
