Here in Virginia, lines are long but they are moving. It will take 40 minutes which isn't the end of the world.0

When states reduce polling locations it isn't rural voters who suffer.bootlegger10 said:
A friend of mine in a nice suburb waited 70 minutes. I doubt there is much Republocan influence in Philadelphia. That is funny.rgambs said:
There should never be lines like that to vote, it's a fucking shame.Cliffy6745 said:My polling place had a line a block and a half long at 8 am. Have voted there for 8 years and have never seen it like that. My sister in a nearby neighborhood waited a half hour. Saw numerous long lines throughout the city on my bike on the way into work. I will be leaving work early to vote, wasn't waiting in that line.
If Trump was banking on low turnout or enthusiasm in Philly, it would seem he was sadly mistaken.
If you think long lines in inner cities has nothing to do with voter suppression of democrats you are a damn fool.Monkey Driven, Call this Living?0 -
Couldnt do it. couldnt vote for her. Ended up with Stein.0

While I generally completely agree with this, I don't necessarily agree with this in this case as I am not aware of any polling stations closing or them lumping numerous districts together of late, in my area at leastrgambs said:

I read recently about a ton of polling place closures and consolidations, but I don't recall PA being on the list. I meant it more generally.Cliffy6745 said:

Trump/Pence - 28,000 people in Michigan at midnight
Hillary/President/First Lady/Bill Clinton/Springsteen/Bon Jovi - 33,000 in the middle of Philadelphia at 7pm
It is amazing the crowds that Trump is able to get to just listen to him talk.

The Dixville Notch vote at midnight is always interesting. I didn't think it would go this way but here's the results.

People wait in longer lines to get on rides in Disney World. I LOVE IT that lines are long for voting. Yay for democracy!rgambs said:

I volunteered at my precinct for the 5-7 AM shift. It was 33 degrees out, and not a single person left because of a 25-minute wait in line or the cold.

Voting is EASY.
Voting should be easy and shouldn't require standing in the cold at all. If the parties want to spend billions on tv ads, they should be required to contribute a percentage to an election board that facilitates voting access.

reports of voting irregularities here already and people calling them out on it...lines like they have never seen...this is nuts today

I live in an all mail-in ballot state. No lines! All voters get their ballots mailed to them. I took a few evenings, went through the ballot slowly and carefully, and then just dropped it in a collection box. It can also just be dropped in your mailbox. No lines. No weather. No transportation issues. Easy!rgambs said:

Yes, I understand the difference between a right and and a privilege -- which is exactly why I will stand in a line all day long to exercise my rights. I'll never spend a minute in a line at Disney World.rgambs said:

The people I know who didn't want to or couldn't stand in a line either voted early or voted absentee. In other words -- they also prioritized the exercising of their rights and made it happen.
People need to get a grip. It's a line. It’s visible evidence that we are a freedom-loving people willing to wait our turn in a public gathering space to exercise our right.
Let me repeat: Voting is EASY.0 -
