This is kinda disappointing. I'd like an explanation.
They felt like it.
Glad people found something to complain about with the reissues I was getting worried about the boards
If "they felt like it" was the reason then say that there is a difference from the original and say we wanted to include this version. The marketing for this made it seem like everything was the same as the original from the packaging to the inserts but no mention that they included a different version of a track. I think that's an important piece of information.
I'm guessing they have a different version marked as "Master" so when they grabbed it for RVM they grabbed this different take. And then when they went to do these, they grabbed it again.

Ok valid point with the way it was marketed, definitely said it was an exact reproduction. Agree to disagree on the disappointment though, I see stuff like that as kind of a fun little surprise. Now if the whole song was like a different take... or Eddie now 20 years later decided he needs to rerecord a bunch of vocal tracks, that would be a different story.

Doesn't the version of "Who You Are" on the Rearviewmirror greatest hits compilation have the same change? Circumstance to Avalanche?

I think so to. Like someone else said, we've been listening to 1 version for 20 years. So, it's a little odd.
It could be the YouTube links but I noticed on the "Avalanche" version that the line starts about 5 seconds sooner. Like I said, not sure if the videos just start at different points or if the timing is a little different too.
