Camden I = Awesome bootleg!!!!!!

After reading all the threads bitching about the 'lame' Camden crowd, low energy blah blah, i wasn't overly looking forward to hearing the boot.

So i went to bed last night, put my headphones on and played it from start to finish. I honestly have no idea where the complaints are coming from. The crowd sounds loud and energetic, and for the first set the band is as tight as i've ever heard them!

The energy drops a little with Ed's slightly-too-long speech about the Innocence Project, but that first set is just rockin'! Leash is much better than the Boston version too, you can hear the crowd going nuts!

I could listen to this boot over and over, especially the first set because the band is just kicking ass.
So i just wanted to show some love for Camden amidst all the negativity.

Camden night I crowd was incredible!! It was louder than F-%$ !

I did not see anyone complain about that show. The crowd from Night I to Night II was a big difference though in my opinion, and i believe that is what everyone else talked about as well.

I listened to the Camden II boot last night and thought it sounded great as well. I was at both shows and thought both crowds were exceptional. I'm looking forward to listening to the Camden I boot for the first time tonight (I downloaded night 2 first because I really wanted to hear how Baba turned out on the boot.)

I thought that Innocence Project thing was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

And the crowd was definately into the show

I've come to the realization that some people just have to fucking complain - I think it's what makes their blood flow

I actually loved the long speech, it gave me some time to catch my breath and rest for a little while before the next song (Last Kiss cut me a break too)...

Night one was an amazing show!!!
Come Back was my higlight outta both shows!

i thought DC had the better setlist and crowd but camden 06 night 1 was a hell of a lot better than camden 03 night 1

Funny, I just talked to a few folks from here who went to the show in DC last nigth and they said just the opposite. He said that the crowd last night wasnt into and he couldnt believe how many people in the first few rows were sitting through the first set.

I was at both Camden shows and was expecting the Sunday crowd to be much louder on the bootleg but man was I wrong. Saturday night's crowd is great on the boot.

Im saying one thing or the other, but one person cant make a blanket statement on how the entire crowd experience was. Every show you get half the people saying the crowd sucked...there was the best energy, then the other half say the opposite. Its stupid to get in these pissing matches about who's crowd is better.

Both had strong points
03 first five songs ripped, RITFW mid set
06 second encore ripped, leash!

They rate about the same in my book, and both were better than the spectrum show in 03

I've been listening to it nonstop since last night. It's cool how Ed tied a lot of songs into a Project Innocence theme (on I Am Mine he even changes a lyric to "all the innocent, doing time"). I was there and missed a lot of those subtleties, but what a great boot!

I did not understand why he made the lyric change in.... Daughter was it??? Something about a table that seats THREE (instead of 2). Was that for the three that got on stage?

THANK YOU, for a positive thread!! I've just recently started checking out the message pit for fanviews and I'm so tired of wading through everyone's complaints. I was at Camden I and the crowd seemed to be SUPER loud singing every word. I've only been to 6 shows and they've been spaced out since '98. I wasn't praying to hear smalltown last Saturdayk, but who cares what they play it's all amazing. The band seemed to have so much energy that night.
It's good to read that the boot captures some of the crowd energy I can't wait to listen (my computer has issues, so I have to wait for a friend to send me the boots).

Im still trying to figure out what Ed says about Boston just right before they go into Leash and the crowd going nuts.

The one thing I noticed listening to the boot was the lyric changes in Leash: "Get outta my lucky face" and "Delight, delight in our truths"

I think a lot of people were complaining about camden 1 because they had such high expectations given it was a "philly" show. It was a great show...but just not an epic show like many people expected.....epic shows arent going to come every night, people have to realize that...this band is going to be touring for 6 months, every night will be great but not every night is going to be a state college

I was at Philly I and thought the crowd was very loud and into all night. I couldn't see anyone sitting from my vantage point.

It was in Not For You. I think he's refering to himself, Jill, and their daughter. I remember when he was with Beth he said, "Seats just two (me and Beth)." Or something like that. Might have even been SNL. If I'm wrong someone please correct me, but I think that's the reason.
