No Code / Yield Reissues, Why Don't We Have Them Already?

If these were new unheard of albums, I'd be a little mad. We've all heard these, some maybe not on vinyl, but it's not a big deal in the long run.And so you see, I have come to doubt

Agree, did anybody from the UK expect to receive them by release date by ordering through 10c?pdalowsky said:Then again guys, you have to ask yourself what's the rush? They'll be here very soon, and whilst they will be cool, the music will be recognizable

No way, it was never going to happen so didn't order through 10c. For a reissue like this I went for the cheapest retailer that I could find, the UK ones may be a different pressing btw or at least have a slightly different sleeve, my Hail Hail that I bought in the UK has Made in the EU on the back.tino_11 said:

Maybe I am just cheap, but I also enjoyed the saving on both marked up records (plus sales tax) by ordering them from the 10 club with shipping. $37.50 for No Code and $25 for YieldBristow 05132010 to Amsterdam 2 061320180

I paid £14.99 for each LP in the UK, that's less than $40 total for the two including postage. I have the originals so didn't want to pay too much for these not knowing how they would sound. 10c was cheaper than some but there were better prices if you looked around.0

Great points of view. Yeah, I'm just being a little over anxious. You're right, it's not like I haven't heard these songs. And I've been waiting for years to have the vinyl, so what's a few more days. Ten Club has always done pretty well. I'll hang on and listen to them next weekend!0

My issue is why do we have to loan money to pearl jam for 3 months AND get them late? I have no problem waiting, but why do I have to give them a 3 month interest free loan to do so? Why not just charge us when they ship? I love PJ and the 10C, it's definitely the longest relationship of my life (non-family of course) but it is a bit of a head slapper sometimes. They've had my money since May, I have nothing to show for it, and I could have just waited and bought them yesterday from my local.1996-09.22; 1998-06.14,07.02,07.13,07.14,08.17,08.18; 2000-08.18,08.20,10.11,10.27,10.28; 2003-04.23,04.26,06.18,06.19,06.22; 2004-10.02,10.03,10.05; 2006-05.16,05.17,05.19,05.20,06.23,06.24; 2007-08.05; 2009-08.23,08.24,09.28,10.31; 2010-05.06,05.07; 2011-09.03,09.04; 2013-07.19; 2014-10.01; 2016-04.26,08.20,08.22; 2018-08.18, 08.20; 2022-09.17; 2023-09.05, 09.07; 2024-08.260

Dodax, they are not the fastest in terms of shipping. Usually a week after release date so probably quicker than 10c. No Code has gone up in price since as well.pdalowsky said:

I don't like how they charge you upfront for everything either, retailers don't but other band sites tend to as well.My issue is why do we have to loan money to pearl jam for 3 months AND get them late? I have no problem waiting, but why do I have to give them a 3 month interest free loan to do so? Why not just charge us when they ship? I find ordering direct from the band more expensive like with the Foo Fighters recent releases. I didn't preorder Sonic Highways on the band site as it was more expensive then missed out on the flexi disc...doh! Then I ordered the St Cecilia EP direct and I got it almost a week after my local store and with postage it cost almost double and no bonus.
Band sites should reward loyalty, be the cheapest, and arrived for the release date. If the operators of these stores can't get the best price and deliver on time then something is wrong. I'm all for indie record stores getting exclusives but as far as online retailing goes you shouldn't have to look further than the official site for the best service.0 -
My Lightning Bolt LP was late, too...BUT 10club gave you a a full res WAV download early than the release date. That does not matter with these 2 LPs because I've been listening to harsh asssed sterile digitals of both No Code and Yield since they came out. That first headphone listen to Sometimes into Hail, Hail? That shit will hurt your brain, if you're not careful.
It's really about the vinyl experience, the unwrap, pulling it out of the paper sleeve...They should have timed it better to coincide, but whatever. It would have been nice for the holiday, I guess. In the general scheme of things, it's really not that important.Post edited by ikiT onBristow 05132010 to Amsterdam 2 061320180 -

Will be. Not sure if all copies were pressed in the EU, MPO (France) I think. They probably just have slightly different sleeves and labels for the US market.pdalowsky said:

I miss the day's when I would receive a new release / reissue etc.. day's before it hit store shelves from the fan clubs, even up here in Canada. It would of been great if our 10club orders arrived before our local record stores put them up for sale to the general public. Oh well. Those day's are long long gone.0

It's going to be OK.0

Have tracking #'s for both No Code and Yield, but neither has been tendered to the carrier yet, which means probably next week before I see them. As others have stated, not a big deal in the grand scheme of things - we've heard the songs before (and I'm between turntables at the moment anyway) - but trying to support the band by ordering direct, having to pay months in advance and not get them from the source until a week to two after retail is a tad frustrating...especially for a non-exclusive.Osaka, Japan (2/21/95), San Diego (7/10/98), Las Vegas (10/22/00), San Diego (10/25/00), Las Vegas (6/6/03), Las Vegas (7/6/06), Los Angeles (7/9/06), VH1 Rock Honors (7/12/08), Ed Solo (7/8/11), Ed Solo (11/1/12), Los Angeles (11/23/13)0
