Wrigley Weather

Many of you might already know this, for those of you who don't, FYI, when P.O.P. says 50% (or whatever), it really means that it will likely rain for 50% of the day, not that there is half a chance that it won't rain at all. Or so a weatherman told me. It's a common misconception I think (I know I was under that impression until this weatherman told me otherwise. He's a very well-known meteorologist/TV weatherman, so I took his word for it.Post edited by PJ_Soul onWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Absolutely pouring in the Northwest Suburbs. Don't think people will be able to sit in line thru this. It's pretty bad.
At least the bars will get some added business.0 -

That doesn't seem to make sense. I think it's really "50% of the area in that forecast area will most likely get rain"PJ_Soul said:Many of you might already know this, for those of you who don't, FYI, when P.O.P. says 50% (or whatever), it really means that it will likely rain for 50% of the day, not that there is half a chance that it won't rain at all. It's more like: our predictive weather modeling software showed rain 50% of the time on days with comparable conditions.dmbolp said:
