Many of you might already know this, for those of you who don't, FYI, when P.O.P. says 50% (or whatever), it really means that it will likely rain for 50% of the day, not that there is half a chance that it won't rain at all. Or so a weatherman told me. It's a common misconception I think (I know I was under that impression until this weatherman told me otherwise. He's a very well-known meteorologist/TV weatherman, so I took his word for it.

Just started raining out in the western suburbs. Should be all wrapped this afternoon. Looking forward to a dry, cool show!

  • Absolutely pouring in the Northwest Suburbs. Don't think people will be able to sit in line thru this. It's pretty bad.

At least the bars will get some added business.

That doesn't seem to make sense. I think it's really "50% of the area in that forecast area will most likely get rain"

  • Looks brutal on the radar. Still sitting on plane in Boston.

for the least they could possibly do
  • Good news is that there wasn't much lightning in the heart of the storm. But a shitload of rain.

My weather app has this stuff clearing out by 2. Last night it was 5. Definitely trending in the right direction.

It's more like: our predictive weather modeling software showed rain 50% of the time on days with comparable conditions.

Perfect, 2pm is when I'm heading into Wrigleyville. Hopefully rolling into sunshine.
  • Tons of lighting and thunder a few blocks from Wrigley right now and rain. Hoping for it to be gone by 2. Good luck all with your flights!

Well it doesn't have to be gone by 2. Just by 7. I think we're fine, as far as the show goes.
