Wow!!! At about the same time this was being played I was in a bar in Vegas making a case for PJ as the best American band in rock history, to a friend. Then I get home and read this. Now I have more ammunition for my case.

Honored to be part of your story in attendance last night Matt. Very moving. I lost my dad 3 years ago and can relate on a very deep and real level. It just so happens that last night was my 13 year old daughter's first Pearl Jam show. Your story and the band's response made a huge impression on her! Peace and love from Fort Worth via Fenway!

I really love when threads like this get answered. To the OP...I've kept your family and yourself in my thoughts and it really is an amazing moment when a group of people can become a collective and experience a moment like last night together, knowing how much it means and the story behind it...Very emotional and touching

I have been in tears all day reading your comments. Thank you so much, and I'm glad that it resonated with many of you in many different personal ways. I always look back to Noel Gallgher's lyric in Don't look back in Anger "please don't put your life in the hands, of a rock n' roll band, you'll throw it all away." He may have been speaking about many other bands out there, but certainly not PJ. The band, it's care for its fans, and the love between fellow 10C members is so strong. I feel fortunate to look back 24 some years ago, and give thanks to the fact that this band provided the soundtrack to my life. I've been able to find love through their songs, humour in their songs (bugs, etc..), sorrow in their songs, and healing in their songs. For me, it was I've got a feeling, but for so many other members, it may be Release, Come Back, Light Years, etc...there are just so many different emotions felt through PJ's music, and this is a very unique club full of well rounded, compassionate people. I cannot express my gratitude enough. After last night, my father feels closer to me than any other moment since he passed, thanks to the band and all of you for making this happen.

I was just reading this quote from Noel two days ago, about the lyrics in that song. it seems he had an issue with Kurt Cobain and how he seemingly "hated" fame and had millions of dollars and was in the biggest band in the world and "still would up hating himself and life and killing himself". I'm paraphrasing.

I didn't know about your request and when I was at the show obviously I was listening to Eddie speak about it. I only just saw this now and I've went through the pages of the thread and I havent lost the goosebumps since the first page. I'm new to this community and its shocking how tight knit it is and how tight knit the band is to their fans. I wish I knew about this before I went to the show as I would have easily broken down. I'm sorry for your loss, I hope you and your family feel the love from this entire community

Dimi posted this story on the FB Group... I read it quickly, then i tried to read it to my friend who was sitting next to me...

and i couldn't read the words all of a sudden
turns out halfway through reading it, i had tears streaming down my face, to the point where i couldn't see

your words hit me really, hard, especially cause i'm a single-father half the time, and i am always hoping/aiming to be a better father than the example that was given to me

    your dad is an inspiration

    thank you for sharing!

What a beautiful tribute to your dad. I've Got a Feeling....a great song that bridges your worlds. Thank you for sharing your dad with us. From now on, when I hear this song I will think of him and the love he had for his boys.

I've said it before, but I honestly have gotten so much perspective from all of you, and I can't thank you enough. I have received so many inspiring messages of love from 10C members, you are all so awesome! After my father passed, I was was completely defeated, was barely finding the energy to get up in the morning, but thanks to all of you people, and with much thanks to what went down at Fenway, I've really found a lot of peace and positivity. Thanks so much everyone. Can't wait to get the Fenway 1 boot, will absolutely treasure it forever.

I'll be honest, I thought there was a 0.0% chance they'd do this when you started your thread. We were in A7 and and as soon as he started talking I knew it was coming. It's sad that such a great moment comes in a time of loss, but that was pretty awesome of Pearl Jam.
