Just read this... Unreal. Happy for you... Continue the groundwork that was laid for you by your dad and pass it along to the next generation. Much love and God bless

One of the highlights of the night from another person who lost his dad. Your request and this band have helped so many of us in the building last night.

  • I watched your story unfold, very incredible and we (fiancé and I) are happy for you. I've been humbled by this band as well while dealing with health issues. They are incredible and I thrive off of the support and friends I make in here. Stay close and enjoy the ride while you can.

Thanks so much everyone for your support, this community is so strong. Thanks so much to the band and for anyone who had a hand in making this happen!! I can't express enough how much this meant to both me and my wife tonight. This has been the most difficult and humbling thing my family has had to face, but your support has meant so much. I was in tears at Pemberton, in our (closest to) hometown show 2 weeks ago when they played Release. While I felt it was a force of a song before, it took on even greater significance that night. That feeling was felt many times over tonight. I can't believe how much everyone in this community cares about each other, and how the band's actions are reciprocal, not only to it's fans but in their own local communities as well and to the many causes they support. My wife and I are big baseball fans, and to be in one of the most storied buildings in all of baseball, with so much history, with the lights on, it completely shook us to our cores to have this dedication tonight. To everyone that has suffered loss, we send our empathy, love and support.

    With great thanks and love,
    Matthew and Natasha Plummer

Absolutely amazing. Really no words can describe how amazing this band and community is. The road to healing is always a long one, hopefully this will just make it a little easier to navigate through.

I am in awe of this. Last night's tribute reached even beyond Matt's original family. My husband, also named Matt, lost his father at 19. In a strange way of the unity felt at shows, it seemed as if Ed was speaking to us, as well. I can't explain the brotherhood of this community, but it is absolutely heartfelt. Thank you for this post, Matt. Our thoughts are holding you tight.
    Be strong, be loved.

Matt - I'm extremely sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in my prayers during this tough time. I'm sure this is something you will carry with you for the rest of your life.
What a heartfelt, genuine gesture by the members of PJ. This goes to show you that it's more than just music to them. They truly love, appreciate and care for all of us no matter how big they get.

This band is so amazing that they do stuff like this. I thought of this thread immediately last night when Ed started talking about playing at The Orpheum.
I hope this helps you grieve your loss Matthew.
