    For me Nothingman....has become a real live staple these past couple of tours especially early in the set.

    Listened to Fort Lauderdale boot coming home from work today and that version of Nothingman is out of this world.

    I never saw anything great about leatherman. betterman and nothing man on the other hand are two of pj's best songs imo.

    The actual story of the Leatherman (a lot in common with Chris McCandless), and the fact that is one of Pearl Jam's signature songs regarding the way of songwriting (research - another example is Jeremy). It's a powerful uplifting punk-rock song with a heavy meaning (especially at the end). That says it all. It's not just descriptive. It's concise and punctual at the same time. After all is said and done, it's my holy grail! :smiley:

    Nothingman definitely for the lyrics/studio version, but I love when they jam out Betterman live/add tags etc, so Betterman got my vote..., not really a fan of Leatherman, and prefer Dead Man as another "man" title over it.
