    Very good point, it feels like there's been more advertising for this father's day than any other in previous history. But honestly, I'm probably just oversensitive, and just notice it more. However I'm trying to keep my perspective positive, as you say, with good memories. Having that in mind, I'd like to express my family's love to all of you that are celebrating with your fathers this weekend, and wish you nothing but the best. Much love, Matt

    Was a rough weekend, but have been really moved by the support from this community and from local friends, and will continue bumping with bleak hope that this might reach the band. It's a great song, one which they often played in their early days but haven't seemed to have played since September 29, 2004 in Boston. I'm hoping that with communal love here, we might get to see it sometime this summer at Pemberton, Fenway, or Wrigley.

    Thanks so much! After a weekend spent cleaning out his apartment, (which was absolutely devastating), I can't express how much this means to me!

    PS do you think it this thread might get more support if I narrowed it to one of the 3 destinations (and if so, which one?).

    You have really great perspective, thank you. You're right, it was really healing in terms of getting some closure. He was a man of very modest means, so it's not like we had to sort through things that were "financially valuable", but rather, it was a very slow process of sorting through things of great emotional significance. There were so many little things I hadn't seen in 20 years, old books he had written in, pictures he had drawn, birthday cards, etc...Things that hold far greater meaning than any material things.

    I began to recall a lot of really great memories that I had completely forgotten about. Though I don't typically keep a journal, I'm trying to write for an hour or so everyday to record those memories, as I want to make sure I have them years from now.

    Thanks Lolobugg...I considered revising to put Wrigley first, but it seems like the band has several requests for Wrigley.

    Also Pemberton holds a lot of local significance for me and my Dad as he would sometimes take me up there river fishing. There was a particular time in my late teens where I was going through a rough patch, and spending a week up there together was really healing. So to hear "I've got a Felling" in British Columbia in front of friends and family would mean the most personally.

    But we will definitely be coming to Fenway and Wrigley, so either of those would be fantastic too! Originally those were just going to be Pearl Jam trips, but have added importance now, and will be a great and much needed escape for us after the past few weeks.

    Oh wow, how cool is it that they just played Angel for the first time since 1994!!! It is actually the song before "I've got a Feeling" on that "No f'ing Messiah" bootleg CD that came out back in 1994! I love this band so much, they've truly been the soundtrack to my life.

    Tomorrow we will be scattering my dad's ashes at Kitsilano Beach in Vancouver. There will be so much positive energy there, and I'm really hoping that we might get "I've got a Feeling" at Pemberton a few days later (next weekend) to say goodbye.

    Thanks so much, it was supposed to rain today, which would be very Vancouver, Northwest-like but instead the sun came out, and for the small group of us it was absolutely incredible. I made up with my brother after being apart for almost 10 years, It was a day my dad could have looked down and been really proud of, thanks for all your support, I'm not sure if it would have been possible without these relationships, and without the music (he's in first photo on the left, with my mom in the middle and me on the right).     Thanks so much for keeping this up, Angel at the Ride festival really made me feel like this could be possible. No matter what happens, I will be so grateful to pay tribute to him in an area we spent time together, as I know he would have loved the thought of us travelling into the mountains to see the band he drove us to see so many times in the early 90's when we were in our young teens.

    PS Irish, Memphis is such a cool city! My wife and I went there to see PJ in 2014 and absolutely fell in love with everything that city has to offer! So much cool history for music, food, etc.. Thanks again for the support.
