this is a personal challenge from me to Eddie Vedder to write both set lists for Philly with NO Rearviewmirror or Porch... I see you penciling in those 2 songs pretty much every night in the same spot, RVM to close the 1st set and Porch to close the 1st encore... they are great songs, and i know they are fan favorites that always bring great energy... but do you want to really mix it up for Philly? we can handle it

    I double dog dare you

I am sure you're a great human but something tells me that Mr. Vedder does not live to impress you. Or me.
no shit, its called having some fun...

why are people on a rock bands message board so f'ing uptight?

relax and try to have some fun folks... I see people on here asking for songs because of all kinds of depressing shit... not that i don't have empathy, but we all have struggles in our life, so lets try to have some fun?
Let me guess, you want to replace rvm and porch with sirens and just breathe?

    I'm with you, OP!!

It's not really those two songs for me particularly, but the end of all the shows. I realize they mix up the sets amazingly well and that's exactly why we all love them, but there's a serious lack of creativity in the last two encores usually. I look at the first set basically to see if I want to buy a boot nowadays since after that there's only a special song or two thrown in.
I'm like an opening band for your mom.

    lol

great songs... but I think they need to end a set/encore on a higher note... I know Blood, Betterman, and DTE are usually the alternate options to end a set... that would work, but I really want something different.... not sure what it is yet, just something different

    well played...

why all the torches and pitchforks folks, i'm only asking to retire them for 2 nights, not 2 years lol

I didn't say the songs suck... just give them a break for 2 nights

I agree with you that they need to end the sets with different songs. Go, Evenflow and blood are good ones.

I bet you flipped out when they played Baba in the 1st set in Milwaukee in 2014... didn't you? its the same exact song they play all the time... but it was new and exciting wasn't it?

I also HATE starting with the lights on...

the lights dropping for a rock show just sets the tone and creates an atmosphere... walking out on stage with the lights on was lame in my opinion

and seriously... play some fucking Mirrorball already... some of the best songs in the bands history are on that LP... as a matter of fact, I would MUCH rather hear some Mirrorball than Temple Of The Dog... a lot of the TOTD stuff sounds dated to me, Mirrorball is timeless

sure, I like R.E.M, but honestly I do prefer something more atmospheric which has been the usual type of walk on music... but im good with it, just turn down the lights

people in Hampton didn't even know what was going on while they were walking out with all of the lights still on, I felt it was weird and led to an awkward start

Just for this they're going to play both, back-to-back, with extra long breaks in the middle.

I will have to disagree with that. They are in good company. NIN does this at times. Trent Reznor will just saunter out, grab a mic and start, with the lights on and it just jolts everyone. It is fun to see how long (or how short) the time is that it takes to get peoples' attention.

Due to life circumstances, and locations of shows, it has been almost 3 years since I have seen PJ play - that is a huge amount of time for me, and I'm fine with whatever they play!

Rock music is meant to be played in the dark... and so is Indifference, but they don't seem to agree lol

This I agree with. When I read they did that I thought it sounded weird.

Lol, I also agree that Indifference with the lights up just doesn't work.
