Exactly. I'm not a big fan of his work.ComeToTX said:Pendleton is pretty predictable.

.......... 'why not let everyone have a chance to buy show-specific merchandise? I have a few concert posters and I don't give a hoot what the print run is, or how limited it is; I either like something or I don't. If someone's purchase decisions rest primarily on how limited a piece of rock concert merchandise is than I'd suggest they need to evaluate their 'green disease'Weston1283 said:While I long for a better solution than the merch trucks, I think this general online merch sale will show that just putting it online for all is an even worse plan in terms of selling merch for normal shows.
When you do this, you're letting everyone (including those not at the show) a chance to buy limited show merchandise. I expect alot of people buying NOLA stickers, pins etc for the sole purpose of trading for others.
Atleast with the Merch trucks, they have to BE THERE to get them.
My idea is an online sale for show specific items, and members who won 10c tickets are sent a member specific code that they can enter to buy the stuff 24 hours before it goes on sale to the public (limited to 1 poster, 1 sticker, 1 button, 1 shirt). Then if anything additional is wanted, they can wait the day of the show, but atleast this way, the people who won tickets get one of each.

With concert posts, usually the run is around 1200, give or take. Why the band doesn't do this for the club members who won GA or reserved tickets for shows, who knows? They should do this for all shows, not just New Orleans.BF89905 said:

They probably wouldn't sell much more stickers, badges and posters than they do now. If they increased the run of each of them, the collectors/flippers would back off and there would be a lot of leftover merch.0

The artists don't want unlimited print runs. They want their prints to be in demand and they also want to be able to sell the higher priced AP editions on their own site.1996: Randall's Island 2 1998: East Rutherford | MSG 1 & 2 2000: Cincinnati | Columbus | Jones Beach 1, 2, & 3 | Boston 1 | Camden 1 & 2 2003: Philadelphia | Uniondale | MSG 1 & 2 | Holmdel 2005: Atlantic City 1 2006: Camden 1 | East Rutherford 1 & 2 2008: Camden 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 (#25) | Newark (EV) 2009: Philadelphia 1, 2 & 4 2010: Newark | MSG 1 & 2 2011: Toronto 1 2013: Wrigley Field | Brooklyn 2 | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore 2015: Central Park 2016: Philadelphia 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 | Fenway Park 2 | MSG (TOTD) 2017: Brooklyn (RnR HOF) 2020: MSG | Asbury Park 2021: Asbury Park 2022: MSG | Camden | Nashville 2024: MSG 1 & 2 (#50) | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore 2025: Raleigh 20

I think Pendleton sucks. I think a decent amount of people would agree with me. A part of creativity is evolving. Pendleton doesn't evolve. Peel back a layer or two and it's the same shit he always does. To each his own though. Like, when I see a poster posted on social media and there is no name to the art; I can tell when a poster was done by Don. Any other poster I take an educated/random guess and I'm usually wrong.Post edited by pearldavidson on0

I actually liked the pirate but when there are great artists out there doing really amazing stuff I can't understand using him multiple times in a tour. I'm confused as to why they don't use Todd Slater more. Nobody is doing better work right now.pearldavidson said:I think Pendleton sucks. I think a decent amount of people would agree with me. I didn't mind the pirate either, but his posters are too similar to one another in general. I'll still buy if it's a show that I'm at, but you better believe it will be last on my framing priorities.ComeToTX said:

Solid poster. I like the theme. It's exactly what you'd see during mardis gras.

That's probably why I don't dig it. Very cliche.tempo_n_groove said:Solid poster. I like the theme. It's exactly what you'd see during mardis gras.

I get the dislike for the 2013 Pendleton Brooklyn posters, and some of his other work.
I really liked the GCF Pendlteon from September though. I have that framed in my living room (my buddy & I had a blast at the show so that helps, but I really like how he did the NYC skyline on the river, it was easily my favorite of the 4 GCF posters, and one of my all time favorites for shows I've been to - again, maybe it's the sentimentality talking).
I also like his '14 Denver t shirt & wear it with pride.
I like this NO poster & if I were at this show, I would be all over this sale on Monday. Good luck to those going for it.0 -
