Then, of course, there's the story that has no story. I read a novel this summer that I didn't like very much because the only point it seemed to have is that sometimes relationships between characters don't work out.

That's all. Sometimes they just don't. I guess it's a common experience for humans.

As the crisp sun slowly rises,
The flowers soak the morning dew
The Swallows are laughing once again,
And the Mocking Birds are calling out,
To all those,They've passed along the way.
Soft are the breezes,Whispering through the leaves.
Kissing my face, Warming my heart.
    What a glorious day.

When life happened,I let my membership lapse. My newest number starts with 489.... I was just going through a garbage bag of old paperwork and stuff,From way back. And I stumbled over old ticket stubs from Pearl Jam and 10 club flyers.Rolling Stones ticket stubs for Oct 29th 1994 my birthday, which Pearl Jam was supposed to be there. And I would of seen them for the first time. But to my surprise,I found my old membership card. And my number was, 182760. To think of so many new fans in between. Love,Love!

Woke up this morning at 3 am,To Parachutes on my mind. Woke again later,To Come Back in my head. While I was preparing coffee, I started humming Time in a Bottle. All three songs mean a lot to me. Weird how they all came to me within hours of one another.

A sadness the length of a sigh.
The explanation the length of a smile.

    (having this - part I)

    having torn again
    bestest of times
    urinal stains difficult
    lots of bad
    nasty

    sharp in there feels
    this
    sleeping nearly unacceptable
a darkened out bed aches (this way)
    hear a moaning crowd now
    thousands go at once
but a few songbirds stay behind
    early

    traffic clogged up
    a similar drain stopped
even as grand as they are tall wooden ships lean fast with nothing to drink
no fruit trees blown around winds
all but faded down to where things are smothered over

    you would
a candle lit goes like this
    it is knowing how
    with a bull elephant's dance
the unknown ritual felt across wide open spaces
to be still without being asked
    no hummingbirds
    not whales
    yes but we can

    you will remember some
    forgetful caterpillar tonight
    no skymoon above this one
just discarded awareness for the time being
    nothing truly lost
    everything calm

but to be a mountain spirit
calling out all your returning cries
thousands of warriors side by side
where touching seashores blister pebbles, shells & sand as if molten moments had been birthed

    but off in the distance
genius piano keys hit hard across our eyes
like flying butterflies lit up with dropping bombs
a hillside over looking it all blasted in solo symphony
    sunlight intoxicated
a confused sky held tight together
until what was heard yielding around us
a spectacular climax in storm fashion

    it snowed forever
cold was having daisies & peaches
the breakfast tablecloth elegant white lace finally found
& you could hear perfection this way as witness
    even a crying swan sings

    Shut up tightly as with a seal;
    One is so near another
    That no air can come between them;
They are joined to one another
They stick together and cannot be parted.

I wish I wouldn't have gotten on the boat that day
Might have seen you before you left
The buzzing and the bites, otherwise it was beautiful
    Haven't talked about this
Seems like so many lifetimes ago
In the basement we were all talking and laughing
She said she'd never been out of the county
But I knew she'd be traveling
You came down the stairs and took a seat
    And took my breath away
    The realization
I couldn't help looking at you
He knew and turned towards me
I turned away but I didn't want to....

    Wish I wasn't so vain
I would wear my glasses and be able to see
I hope everyone can see that Liberace is a liar
She and the beanpole help the demons that sit behind me
If the beanpole knew what they say but not my concern
I'll go on my merry way looking for the bluejay
who collected the donations that day
I once again ruined my life
because I should have runaway with him
    Remember be close

    (part I)

ever throw a steak onto the steel just over a campfire fairly early one morning?
    eat it with your hands
there aint a fork or knife near you
toss the scraps over your shoulder or give the dog a bone
    aint no thing
    it's 8:13

    go out hunting morels
    grays & browns
    dead leaves covering forests teeth-roots
    sometimes hickory trees
other times large old oaks whistle
they'll whisper windsongs all to themselves

    across the way yellow runs
    purple dives
    jumps for attention
sun has its laughter little ones color

A lawyer, a plumber, an architect
    A ranger, a writer, a fisherman
A carpenter's boss or a musician playing in little bars
    It wouldn't have mattered
    We would've collided
Facebook or my space or somewhere else
    We are meant to be
You think that all I want is a diamond and a ring of gold
But all I want is you

This isn't that good and some of it's stolen but it's how I feel

    emotions are like glass
you can make it shiny and sparkle
    to radiate beautiful light or
you can break it to only get cut
    by the sharp pieces
    you reap what you sow

    asked
    i did this
endless circular cool winds took it
amazed & playful clouds rolled on in
some were bunnies on hills of alfalfa
others drew pictures of floating castles
crisp air creates & dismantles floating dreams

    ?where does all this grow
pink flames against yellow racing down horizons
you'll see a queen back there
    her garden like liquid
beside another set of parading horses
    soon happenings bright twinkle prances

enormous birdbaths take in flutters higher than mountaintops
having a song of cotton candy entrances
    full gardens some asleep
others are tears on iris purples
there you'll see her dance around
this fire-pit having embers lifting as tiny helicopters & angels

    sometimes fireflies (sometimes not)
when counting cannot go on without chaos
blink & amazed in yellow against darkness
something like race horses let out birdcages
    no more swinging small
    their answers
    their questions
    ?all matching perfectly
like classical pianists launched off the edge
