I rarely buy anything for the 10c store these days because of the high prices and shipping costs. I did buy one of these but still wasn't happy about $6 shipping for a piece of felt.

Is this a felt mat? I hate the way the record sticks to those when you flip the LP

I would assume felt. Yea, static can be bad. That is why I moved to a cork mat.

Thank god they explained what this is, I had no idea.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but I also appreciated the explanation. If you're not a DJ, then this is nothing more than a vanity piece.

I have never used a felt mat - i use rubber. Sounds like felt is not something I should switch to... bummer. Close but no cigar I guess.
Thanks 10C ... maybe you can offer a rubber version for the next design. I would buy that.
Edit: mixed reviews i'm seeing now on felt. So do felt mats suck or not, assuming it's notnfor DJing? This doesn't really seem like something that would be a matter of opinion, lol, and yet....
What about cleaning a felt mat? And cat hair? Are wayward cat hairs extremely attracted to a felt mat?

Well rubber prolly is safer. You wouldn't want your equipment to catch anything ... .
Oh please let it rain today.

I grabbed the Queens of the Stone Age slip mat a while back and it is felt. It is thick and does not stick to the vinyl at all. And I don't notice any static with the thicker felt.
Hope this is the same quality.

Can we get a PJ logo etched Acrylic platter for those of us who don't want to mess with felt mats? Is that too much to ask?

I want a slipmat made from the skin of a near extinct species. I would also accept elephant tusk or one knit from the mane of Cecil the Lion.
  • Is this gluten free?
Gluten can stick to the records you know.

    seriously. members want too much.
I complain about shipping and tax cost but take a chill pill.

Probably. But I'd buy it! I use an acrylic player now so have no use for a slip mat (but I bought it anyway  )
