I'm about to upgrade my Debut 3 platter to acrylic, so a slipmat isn't really necessary anymore.
That's what I'm using - it's awesome. I throw a slipmat on it when I'm not using it.

I went on Amazon on found I could buy a similar slipmat for $11. Why the extra $1 10c? Why??????? When is enough...enough????? People have kids to feed.
So if I'm getting this. I should take this off the table when playing a record? Or will it not matter to just put the record right on it for playing.
You put the record on top of it.
If you have a metal platter, it helps to protect the record better. It can also help to cut down any noise that the metal platter may promote.
The downside is, it can cause static electricity buildup on the record.
It was created for DJs to help the record move better when scratching. (As opposed to the rubber slipmat, which keeps the record somewhat firmly in place)

Thanks!
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

Gluten can stick to the records you know.
