    Many a days blaring this album on my JVC 'ghettoblaster'- taped on a Maxell 90 minute cassette from my record- working on my game at an outdoor hoop.

    Rock you like a hurricane was an 80s anthem. Big city nights was my favourite though.

    48. Helmet - Meantime

    "Meantime" may have been considered some form of hardcore when it came out, but this album is pure metal. The drumming is sick, and Page's voice can be melodic or brutal whenever he chooses. Plus he is a really underrated guitar player.

    Yeah, I don't know why people had such a hard time calling Helmet a metal band. Is it because they all had short hair at a time when pretty much everyone in every metal band had long hair?

    More likely, it's because the promoter-types figured that calling them a metal band would hurt their record sales.

    Wow. I can't believe I never noticed that. Both the band name and the album title were wrong.

    Granted, I wasn't really looking at all the list all that closely. I've just been following the individual posts. But I'm a nitpicky fuck (as you may have noticed when I pointed out the title of the Quiet Riot album).

    And damn, now that I look again, I see that "Blizzard of Ozz" is misspelled as well. Anything else I missed?

    I'm adding Rainbow - Rising to the list. This was released in the mid-70's and showcases Ritchie Blackmore's incredible guitar playing, Ronnie James Dio's brilliant vocals, and Cozy Powell's killer drumming. The standout track for me is Stargazer, an epic 8+ minute song recorded with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra.
