“When a child asks you something, answer him, for goodness sake. But don't make a production of it. Children are children, but they can spot an evasion faster than adults, and evasion simply muddles 'em.”

To Kill A Mockingbird was one of the only books that I really, enthusiastically enjoyed reading in school. May she rest in peace.

That book (film too) - staples of my childhood.

Thankful for her feistiness and perspective.

    Well that made me cry.

A good friend (and fellow southerner) posted on FB, "Godspeed, Ms. Lee. The cynic in me wonders how her handlers plan to cash in now."

TKAM will remain one of my favorite books forever.

That one amazing book will keep the the collective memory of her alive for the ages.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.
