Suggestions for Coping with Grief: Shut out of Fenway with 1st and 2nd choices

This thread is intended to support and comfort those who chose the Fenway shows as their top choices and were shut out.

I've started by making a gratitude list of all shows I have seen on 10club tickets.

Shut out on both as well, actually forgot about today being the day of the drawing. Put in for them thinking it would be cool to see the city of Boston and PJ, since I've never been to Boston.

I posted this in other thread - its a try at an explanation - please let me know if info is wrong.

FENWAY - So the explanation(until proven otherwise) is if you put in for night #2 with FIRST CHOICE you WON as there was enough tickets for everyone. Night #1 had more demand then tickets so some people lost. Then the lottery moves to second selections for #2 as everyone got filled with first priority - once again NOT enough tickets for everyone for night #2 with second selections. The lottery doesn't look at if you won tickets with first selection its just comparing 2nd selections to 2nd selections so its possible for a person to win the lottery twice and others none.

It's as shame they didn't prioritize Friday night losers ahead of Friday night winners, when going to the 2nd choice Sunday tickets.

Yes. It absolutely is. Everyone would have won this way, I'm sure of it.

Seems like a sound theory, Indifference...but I still think if that's the case it sucks... :-( I wish there was a way to have it be just an entry as I would have been happy with EITHER night with no real priority, I just want to be on the field w TC and Pearl Jam. It's rough seeing so many people - even (no offense, out of towners...) people not from the area get Fenway tickets to both shows and I can't get one... I'll survive, no one died...I'm just slightly inconsolable right now. :anguished::bawling:

I too got shut out of both shows. :bawling:

As for Indifferences theory, right before the10C ticket lottery was closed, I looked at the percentages & Night 1 was 44% & Night 2 was 46%. So I am not sure if your theory is correct.

You realize that has nothing to do with it. One deals with priority the other doesn't.

Stay on the boards, and keep looking. I was shut out for Wrigley 2013. A buddy found a ticket through another 10c guy, who ended up selling it to someone else as well, and didn't let me know until I was already in Chicago on the night before the show. Another 10c member came through and I got one at cost that same night. It will work out, just stay positive, continue to try to connect to others here, and you'll be there.

    Look at it this way:

If you put Chicago first or last, it still counts towards the Odds.

So Fenway 1 and 2 could have identical odds, but based on where people put them in their preferences, they would be much different.

To rephrase.....some people put Chicago GA as their 6th preference. Now, those will drive the odds down, but we know that nobody would win with their 6th preference for this tour. See what i mean? So the "odds" for Fenway 1 and 2 could be the same.

    100 People, 70 put Fenway 1 as 1st priority and Fenway 2 as 2nd.
Meanwhile 30 put Fenway 2 as 1st, and Fenway 1 as Second. The odds would still be the same.

    Near to death.

Agreed. This is a much different argument that some others are making tho.

Not sure if there really is a fair way to do that, thats cost effective, etc.

I didnt get tix. Not a fan of the lottery system for this tour. Got shut out of my hometown shows in NYC, which I understand are in high demand.

I then went for both Fenway shows, and Night 1 in Wrigley, and came up empty. Seeing people get 3 shows yesterday, or 2 shows yesterday, without me getting 1 show of the 3 I entered for....... you can say I was not real happy with this system.

Since 1998 I never had a problem getting a show or more per tour from the Ten Club. I had no problem getting Wrigley in 2013. To come up empty for NYC, Fenway & Wrigley just really sucks. And to try to beat the bots in the general sales is impossible for me it seems.

No way was it fair to have people winning 2 Fenway shows or 2 Wrigley shows, when other were getting no shows. They limited NYC & Philly to 1 show per member, Fenway & Wrigley should have been the same. If there were extras, then open it up to let a few get multiple nights.
