Whatever you do stay away from Craislist. I got screwed for Foo Fighters at Wrigley this summer. Luckily went to Will Call, explained what happened, was by myself and they quitley asked for my credit card and gave me a Field GA at face. I was lucky, but the other twenty that were behind me likely didnt have the same luck. Ive seen it to many times. At least you have the security at Stubhub for legit tix. Wait for the prices to drop. These asshole scalpers dont want to eat a ticket, so maybe the weekend of, you can pay a tad more than face2014: Moline, IL

This is my first post on this site, so please be gentle.I want to go to the April 13th Jacksonville show, but 1- I'm afraid of heights 2-All the low level seats (& the pit)were taken by the time I tried to order them. I even ordered a couple minutes ahead of time. So, I joined the ten club hoping that PJ will be back this way soon. Saw them at the St. Pete show back in 1994.It's really frustrating, but I'll keep checking for ticket in case people have to cancel their plans to go to the show. What's the best vendor for my seating needs?0

Like people have Stubhub is a reputable place to buy from. The tickets are guaranteed. I bought a $750 ticket to get into the 12.12.12 concert in NYC and it was bogus. Stubhub refunded my ticket price and then gave me a free alternate ticket to use. Worked out great for me!ChristopherAB said:This is my first post on this site, so please be gentle.I want to go to the April 13th Jacksonville show, but 1- I'm afraid of heights 2-All the low level seats (& the pit)were taken by the time I tried to order them. Also, hang out around these boards and see if people have an extra reserved fan club seat. Those will be lower level and you probably will find someone willing to sell for face value. Especially closer to the show date people are always unloading extras because friends back out or their spouse can't make it.
Ticketmaster sometimes will release tickets closer to the show date and usually they are good seats because the band no longer needs them for friends/family or they find out some seats can be used once the stage is setup. Check Ticketmaster often and may get lucky.

With the disappointment of getting shut out last week I’ve been scouring sites like Stubhub, Seat Geek, eBay, etc. and the prices are pretty steep, especially considering the exchange rate! I’ve never had to look for tickets outside of fan club or Ticketmaster before so this is the exact type of thread I needed to read. Thanks to everyone for your insightful comments, they've helped put things back into perspective for me as it really is the time to be patient. Still over three months to find tickets

Honestly, work with people on the boards to pick up one of their extras near the date of the show. It takes a little work messaging back and forth, but saves you money and lands you better seats for the effort.
But honestly, I'd wait and see what Fenway/Wrigley shows line up - especially if more venues on the east coast are added. If there are more shows coming, there will be less outrageous prices for the current stops.0 -
Thanks all for this thread, it's my 1st time facing this kind of parallel ticket market, but I'm going to wait. Got 1st ticket at face value for MSG1 and still looking for the second but definitely don't like sites like Stub Hub. Even coming from Italy I think there are other ways, Scalpers market havo to stop. Ticket are for fans, ever with the possibility to spend more money, I think it's hateful and don't wanna be connivent. I'll wait!0

It`s shady. Ebay owns it and has unlimited funds, so they can afford to take risks. I know individuals use it too to make a few bucks, but it`s obvious the company itself is buying up thousands.0

interesting how they can just provide tickets for a large event at the drop of a hat... tells me they own a lot of the tickets they have for sale, not individual sellers... or they bought the tix from a seller and just gave them to you?

Only crazy desperate people buy from stubhub shortly after the public onsale. You just need to check it a couple times a day. I think you can even set up email alerts when more tickets are added? Is that true?
Either way, take your time, there are 3 months until the show. People post them for crazy prices right after the onsale date, because someone is going to say "eff it" and pay that amount. Just keep waiting. Keep checking friends, message board, ticketmaster in the meantime, you might score face value.Turn this anger into

There are always tickets available the day of the show for this reason, among other reasons. And they release those tickets that same day. Just a reminder.my2hands said:

I think the big thing for some is the differential. I.e. a $500 poster is $500 for everyone, but a $250 ticket is 2.5 times what a lot of people just paid. Not saying I agree or disagree (because I certainly don't buy $500 posters....in fact I don't own any posters!!), but I think that's the psychological thing for people.SPEEDY MCCREADY said:

But I see some seats...For MSG 1
Section 114...side stage..actually great seats
For $250
Those are damned good seats.
Twice face? Yep
Side stage to the rear? Yep
Damned good seats? YEP
Peace of mind, is worth paying twice face, for a decent seat.
But that's just me. I am not one to beg, plead, and pull my hair out of my head, looking for a ticket. I could pay my $250 today, take that section 113-114 ticket for MSG. 1, and be done with it.
The extra $100-$150 I pay for the ticket, is worth my peace of mind.
I have always scratched my head to some peoples thoughts, in regards to stub hub.
People here on this board are willing to purchase every damn poster Pearl Jam releases for $30-$50 dollars.
They are willing to buy every shirt, pair of socks, coffee cups, record releases, bootlegs, etc.
They are willing to spend thousands of dollars a year on this website.
Yet when tickets go on sale, and they get shut out?
NO WAY IN HELL will some people pay 2 times over face value for a ticket!
They will go on ebay though, and spend $600 on a cracker jack poster.
They will spend $1000 on a Benny.
And I just don't get it.
Isn't that why we are all here? Isn't seeing the band play live what it is all about?
Isn't the little extra you might have to pay for a concert ticket worth a hell of a lot more than the $200-$500 a year some people spend on posters? POSTERS???0 -
Traders - parasites all of them.
Every market has them. Energy market / Ticket market etc etc. They don't produce anything they don't consume anything. They claim to provide liquidity but that is just a joke.
As I said parasites. Stay away from re-sales.'06 Milan

The thousand or so people crying outside MSG 2010 without tickets was enough for me not to wait for a price drop for MSG this year. I feel violated for what I paid for a decent single each night but the reduced stress is worth it.1996 - Ft Lauderdale

I deal with StubHub a lot during the baseball season and get great deals...never have used them for concerts because usually tickets sell for 3x 4x 5x the amount of face value so I usually don't score any deals...as a company tho I have never had a problem with them and use them often0

I was pissed for a few minutes missing Springsteen's performance, but when I got a free refund and a free ticket, I was pretty happy. I don't know how they have the tickets but they must have to buy some in case people get burned, otherwise why trust Stubhub?my2hands said:

I am on the 'peace of mind' side. I have the money and now I have the tickets. I understand this is not popular, and that if I wanted to check back throughout the next 3 months that I might get the same seats at a fraction of the price. However...I now know right where I am sitting at 3/4 of the shows I am attending, and 10C tickets will be in play where I do not know. To me, this represents value.
Everyone has their own way to approach these things, and the true problem is with the way they sell the tickets in the first place. No way in hell I have 3 devices going and come away with no tickets in a general sale. Bots are buying the hell out of the tickets. I would have been happy for MSG1, for instance, to sit upstairs and in the back if that was what popped up when I tried to get tickets the second they went on sale. Instead I was shut out and have seats upstairs side stage...not bad...and at a price I was OK with paying.

$200-$250 on stub hub is still a great price for a decent seat to see Pearl Jam. At least in my eyes. And not having to worry about getting tickets for the next 3 months is certainly worth paying the extra cash, again, in my eyes. But to each their own.
I still haven't figured out the people who book the hotels 1st, then book their flights, and last but not least, then try to get their concert ticket. The way I look at it, they couldn't be any more backasswards! Hahaha
