*** Official BONNAROO and TENCLUB Thread ***

edited February 2016 in The Porch
The goal of this thread is to have a single thread for all things TENCLUB at BONNAROO!

Who are you? Where are you coming from? Who is coming with you? How many Roos have you been to? What is your favorite band on the lineup? Who can you absolutely not miss? How many Spicy Pies will you eat this year?

GROOP CAMPING
The 2nd goal is to possibly organize a groop camping option. Groop camping info is HERE. Read through that page, all the info is there. If we are starting to come close to the minimum number required for Groop camping hen I will start to figure out if its do-able. The deadline is fast approaching, so I need to know soon!

EDIT: Groop camping is not happening (atleast I am not organizing it.) You may be able to join another groop though.

    I am AndySlash

I will be coming from Minneapolis.

My girlfriend, another friend, and I will hopefully be meeting up with some other friends in Kentucky and then heading down. We may or may not be volunteering this year.

This will be Roo number 10 for me, and Pearl Jam show number 30. I am kind of excited by those nice, round numbers.

Pearl Jam is my favorite band on the lineup. I am also specifically excited for LCD Soundsystem, Dead & Co., WEEN, Mavis Staples, Kamasi Washington, Steve Gunn, and Lizzo.

I will probably eat at least 3 spicy pies.

I will keep dibs on this thread. I do not see myself partaking in groop camping given the others I will be coming down with and their plans, but who knows maybe things will change.

This will be my 9th year in a row at Bonnaroo and i have to say i havent been this pumped to get back to the farm since Paul McCartney was there a few in 2013.

This will be my second year as an organizer of a Groop, we are The Bonnaroo Gathering of Debauchery(BGoD). I have camped in several areas of the farm and the Groop experience was preety great last year. Not too far of a walk to Centeroo and having your land set aside for you when your roll in is great. We already have of reservations for this years Groop and are awaiting the link to buy our passes. If there isnt a tenclub groop and you want one to join let me know and ill send you an invite to our FB group

Spicy Pie is my saturday dinner usually after we rage to hard on Friday and forget to eat most of the day. You hit that wall and Spicy Pie comes to the rescue to keep you going!

Mavis Staples is cant miss for me, Sunday morning Soul is one of my favorite time slots of the weekend. That Claypool/Lennon Delirium looks interesting. I am not the biggest Dead fan but i cant wait to get some Dead Heads back to the farm

Lets convince everyone who got shut out of tickets to go to BonnaroooOOOOooooo!

    Awesome!

Wow, Minneapolis sounds super far! I will be coming from Maryland, with the other 3 members of my group picking me up on their way from New Jersey!

Shit, Roo #10 is awesome! This will only be #2 for me, but I'm excited as anything since PJ will be there! After seeing Jack White in 2014 I promised myself I would be back for Peal Jam no matter what, and now it's happening!

Definitely keep dibs. If anything else, it would be cool to get a meetup for arranged for a certain date/time!

Yes! All the people complaining about being shutout on Ticketmaster! BONAROOOO TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

You already have experience as a groop organizer, thats great! Do you know all of the people in your group in real life? haha I would not make it to 10 (nevermind 24) if I had to organize a groop with straight up friends haha. Thank you for the offer if this doesn't work out. We are 4 people in a 1 car, so I will have to run it by my group, but we can play it by ear for a couple days. Don't count on me yet though, let's see if this thread takes off and all the roovians come out of the woodwork of the PJ forum haha.

yes, it's a 17 hour drive. i've only ever driven there, and it's tough every time. the majority of the drive is through illinois, where you go from the top of the state to the very bottom, and there is virtually nothing from rockford to metropolis except flat land, bad roads, and a giant cross in effingham. it's effingbrutal.

There is plenty of time on sign up. Cut off wasn't until mid to late April last year, I knew about 10 of 65 of the group. my cousin is the coleader and knows a lot more than that from his lolla group.

That sounds worst than my trip through Virginia.. haha I thought about trying to figure out how to fly in, but then you are stuck carrying gear, and that sounds impossible..

I misunderstood, website says Groop leaders need to sign up by Feb 12, I thought they meant everyone, good to know!

How do you guys do up your campsite? Does everyone take a small corner section for sleeping, and then you have a common area for hanging out/cooking/etc? Do you do a big tent like some of the other groop sites I have seen?

Ahhh yeah the Groop leader cutoff is February. I was think of the groopies sign up once a leader has registered.

Our Groop was a little dis organized as far as set up last year. I vow to do better this year. We did get 3-4 ez ups in a row with tarps pitched off of them to shade the tents around them. And have a chill spot in the middle

bonnaroo #9 this year. went the first 8, haven't been since. looking like 4-6 heads this year out of Philadelphia. meeting friends from Chicago en route. doing vip this year. we'll have 3-4 ez-ups like sgtppr67 mentioned, tarps everywhere. we bring a grill, a cooler of frozen burgers, dogs, chicken, breakfast meats, eggs, all that shit on dry ice. usually 1 suv is filled with food and booze. really cant wait to get back, wasn't sure if i'd ever make the trip again. the drive home is brutal, I must say. fucked up for 4 days then a 14 hour drive. good grief, im getting too old for this shit... never.
safe travels, much fun to everyone going. be in touch if you like to party like its '99...

LCD Soundsystem - Tame Impala - HAIM - Ween - Jason Isbell - CHVRCHES - Father John Misty - Purity Ring - Kurt Vile - FIDLAR - Lettuce - Papadosio - Hundred Waters

All artists I've paid to see that put on EXCELLENT shows. Would highly recommend. Unfortunately, there's just not a lot of new stuff on this line-up for me to be interested in dropping the $500+ it'd cost me to go there. Have seen/will soon be seeing most of these people since their latest album dropped. Unfortunately, it seems like Bonnaroo is always a year or so late in scoping out music trends and it gets more expensive to go every single year.

Bonnaroo # 6 (1st was 2010, skipped 2012, gone ever since). Coming from Chicago with my wife, sister, sister's sister (my half sister's sister), cousin, couple of friends. Of course favorite band is Pearl Jam, looking forward to Tame Impala, Death Cab, Ween, Father John Misty, Nathaniel Rateliff, and of course the Superjam!

The last 2 years I have done groop camping with my group SooperGroop. *SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT* Last year we won groop camping and had our tent featured in Rolling Stone.

We have approx 100 - 110 people that are in our groop, who all met randomly on the internet in 2013, and have now become like family to me in a very short time. We range in age from 19 to early 50's (I will be 38 this Roo). I highly recommend getting into a group if possible. Shorter distance to Centeroo, much more communal atmosphere.

And if any of you go in on Wednesday night (if you are GA you are allowed to do so). We host a raging party all night sun down to sun up. We will have 2 Accoustic Acts followed by 2 DJ's in our big tent. We usually get a ton of people to at the party, so even if you don't do group, make your way there, and dance your ass off.

So I don't think I will be organizing a tenclub groop... I think my group might want to join one of your guy's groops, but I will have to confirm that. If not, I will definitely try to stop by wednesday night!

Supergroop looks like they have thier shit together a lot more than BGoD does, LOL. There is plenty of time to jump into a groop yet. Everyone is clamoring over tickets for the rest of the tour and i'm sitting over here knowing we are getting the best show of this tour. Ed had such a good time his last time there, surely hes gonna try and out do that set!

I appreciate everyone's invites to a groop, but my group has decided on upgrading to a Le Bon 4-person Comfort / Glamping tent. (Why are there so many names?!)
I was on the fence with this because I don't think it's in the spirit of Bonnaroo, but they offered to pay for the whole thing, so it isn't costing me any extra. And I will really enjoy the cot.

Has anyone heard about these? Dont them in the past? Know which pod they are located in? Any details at all?

I bought some of the Death Cab albums that I didn't have, can't wait for that show!!

So there seems to be no Bonnaroo chatter at all, which I'm a little surprised at. I just got my tickets in the mail yesterday, 5th straight trip to the farm for me. Anyone else adventuring there this year?

I won't be attending Bonnaroo (unfortunately). But someone I know told me that his band is playing there on the small stage. And he told me that he has backstage passes to the main stage.

First thing I said was "PEARL JAM IS PLAYING THERE! Meet them and send a picture to me!"

    We'll see what happens.

This will be my 2nd year! (1st year was 2014 with Jack White headlining).
I'm really looking forward to it. I feel like we got off easy with the weather in 2014, so I hope I can handle the heat this year.
I just got my goodie bag! I love the Magic 8 ball, but I don't understand all of the references. Do you know what the "Pineapple!" means? I assume alot of people will be yelling that this year?

Just downloaded the app on my phone and set my schedule up. Only have 1 major conflict, I'm pretty happy with that. Who is everyone excited for besides PJ?

My schedule looks to be pretty conflict free. This will be my 9th bonnaroo in a row, and i've learned to schedule light and go with the flow and you never know who you will discover. Everyone should stop in at Bonnaroo Gathering of Debauchery out in Groop camping. i know there are at least 2 10C members with us
