Usually waiting is best but not too late. Also, some shows just have a ton of demand and tickets slowly get bought up and prices increase the steadily the whole time. See Bruce in Boston next week. Probably could only happen to MSG shows.
SHOW COUNT: (170) 1990's=3, 2000's=53, 2010/20's=114, US=124, CAN=15, Europe=20 ,New Zealand=4, Australia=5

At least StubHub gives you the opportunity to buy tickets it's just a matter of at what cost...if you really want to go than that's the most likely ticket in after being shut out from lottery and TM.pearlgirl52 said:If we all stopped buying tickets from stubhub we could take the power back! Unfortunately, that probably won't happen. I can't say I hate a lot of things, but I HATE stubhub. I didn't try for tickets today, but I feel everyones pain who got screwed over. Stubhub, you can bite me.

Peace of mind, is worth paying twice face, for a decent seat.
But that's just me. I am not one to beg, plead, and pull my hair out of my head, looking for a ticket. I could pay my $250 today, take that section 113-114 ticket for MSG. 1, and be done with it.
The extra $100-$150 I pay for the ticket, is worth my peace of mind.

I have always scratched my head to some peoples thoughts, in regards to stub hub.
People here on this board are willing to purchase every damn poster Pearl Jam releases for $30-$50 dollars.
They are willing to buy every shirt, pair of socks, coffee cups, record releases, bootlegs, etc.
They are willing to spend thousands of dollars a year on this website.
Yet when tickets go on sale, and they get shut out?
NO WAY IN HELL will some people pay 2 times over face value for a ticket!
They will go on ebay though, and spend $600 on a cracker jack poster.
They will spend $1000 on a Benny.
And I just don't get it.
Isn't that why we are all here? Isn't seeing the band play live what it is all about?
Isn't the little extra you might have to pay for a concert ticket worth a hell of a lot more than the $200-$500 a year some people spend on posters? POSTERS???Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....0 -
Your guess is as good as mine. I pay face for everything. Once I paid twice the original cost for a keychain.... I don't know why but I fell in love with that damn thingSPEEDY MCCREADY said:

Seat Geek has WAY better prices than Stub Hub (plenty of $20 off codes out there too) and prices went way down the day before the show. Why would a scalper be inclined to lower prices this far before the show? They are hoping for some miracle purchase now with the intent to lower before the show.0
-
Wait til they go down substantially and then buy the instant they start to creep up a little because they're probably not going down any more after that. Speaking from my experience with StubHub.0

I stand by my aggressive controversial statement

I'm not saying the extra money spent on tickets wouldn't be worth it, I mean I would sell my kidney to see PJ live anywhere, but not everyone can afford to.
The secondary market prices for Wrigley were crazy. I was only 17 at the time and no way I could afford them.
Also, sometimes people get their ticket scanned to find out it was fake. I definitely don't fault the fan who gets a ticket through stubhub as a last resort. I just wish it didn't exist in the first place. It would make getting face value tickets easier for the true fans. That's another reason I love 10c for not letting people sell their tickets above face.
Anyway, I hope everyone gets in to the show they want to see somehow.0 -

Is stubhub worth it? I've heard there's no way to know if the ticket is legit and they could sell that dame ticket like 100 times??
People posting here don't seem to have that issue...Oh please let it rain today.

The absolute worst case scenario is that something happened that invalidated the ticket you bought (for one of like 50 different possible reasons) you call the Service Center, and they reissue you comparable tickets immediately.
Basically, this is what you are paying them their Buyers % for.
Also, you should sign up for the Rewards program before you buy anything. It starts at 2% cash back for future ticket purchases and goes to 3% once you buy a lot of tickets through them.
I've earned like $1,000 to use for other tickets over the years just by using it.
(I use StubHub a lot)

Whatever you do, don't buy on streets in NYC. Probably 75% of the tickets around there are fake
Stubhub has the guarentee, so if it is fake they will get you another ticket or your money back. Extra money is worth that guarentee if your going that route. (I've never been burned by SH)0 -

POSTERS???

I get what you're saying but I'd love to see scalpers business be ruined and take hits on these purchases (after their end of the stubhub fee)SPEEDY MCCREADY said:
Yeah, but as far as I am concerned.....SVRDhand13 said:
Add in stubhub fees and those are very expensive for decent seatsSPEEDY MCCREADY said:Say what you want about stubhub...
But I see some seats...For MSG 1
Section 114...side stage..actually great seats
For $250
Those are damned good seats.
Twice face? Yep
Side stage to the rear? Yep
Damned good seats? YEP
