Ticket Lottery Strategy

I'm just hoping to be in the building! Keeping my fingers crossed. This will be my first PJ show if I get lucky in the lottery!

Can you please help me understand my best shot to get into the Toronto and Ottawa show? Essentially I wonder if they didnt explained things correctly above because they say SHOW PRIORITY and each show has 2 priority levels:
Toronto is my #1 priority, Ottawa is my #2.

Should i vote
Toronto Reserved #1
Ottawa Reserved #2
Ottawa Floor #3
TO Floor #4?

Or

Toronto GA 1
Toronto Reserved 2
Ottawa GA3
Ottawa Reserved 4

please help? This GA/Reserved thing is broken because i think if you choose GA as 1 you have to wait for everyone you selected reserved 1 first then you go. Even though the SHOW itself is your first priority!

Your first option gives you the best chance to get into the building of both shows. Your second option has a throwaway pick as your second priority since there is almost 0 chance of getting that. If you are feeling lucky I would do is this. 1. TO GA 2. Ottawa Reserved with your 3rd and 4th being a waste but you might as well throw something in. If you are not feeling so lucky I would go with this 1. TO Reserved 2. Ottawa Reserved

Interesting thread... my question is... For MSG or any venue who is hosting 2 shows... If I am reading this thread correctly everyone is saying you basically have ZERO Chance of getting Tickets to BOTH shows in the same venue then??? For instance... I have selected 4 choices... ALL covering the 2 MSG shows... So obviously one of the MSG shows is my first choice and then the other MSG show is 2nd choice... 3rd n 4th is the opposite of reserved/GA for the same 2 shows... so based on this threads thinking... i will only get tickets to 1 of the MSG shows?

Looks like you joined after January 18th, so you wouldn't qualify for this lottery on the current username you have here. (See front page specs for details.) Still, there are often 10c tickets available at face value from some of the fine folks here. Just keep an eye out.

If it's your #1 choice...that is correct!!
You will not win tickets to one of the high demand shows UNLESS you have that selected as your #1 choice!!
There won't be any tickets left over for folks that make it a #2 choice...AND...many people that have it picked as #1 won't get tickets either!!!
There just aren't enough tickets for the number of people that want to go to the MSG, Philly and Toronto shows!!

I disagree, in 2013 I heard of people on this board got GA as a 4th pick. all the rules of the lottery, how it exactly works, has not been disclosed. yes, it states they will all draw for 1st priority, and very hard to believe that for GA, approx 500 ticket purchases, they are not all gone on the first round, then how can someone get GA on a 3rd or 5th priority? and when they add a statement like "no matter your choice or priority, it's the luck of the draw" well I don't think anyone can make a guarantee whether someone will get ticket or will not get tickets.

they had the odds in 2013 Im pretty sure and from a member on that tour, looks like he got GA on 2nd and 3rd pick portland and skokane.

Just those three shows. I got my top three priorities; sea reserved, portland and spokane both GA.

someone else splained it like everyones name goes into a giant lottery for all the shows and they pull a name and then assign them their #1 priority.

It's not you, it's anyone that states, definitively, without a doubt, what an outcome of a lottery drawing will be.

I researched the forum for 2013 lottery results based on picks and found this:
2013 someone got LA1 GA as their 3rd choice and Phoenix GA as their 7th choice. Another member won Philly 2 GA as a 3rd pick.

I know some won Philly GA with that not being ther #1 choice in 2013. I think the reason why , was because , if my memory is correct, those shows were on a Monday & Tuesday. And, you know how a lot of people cant or won't travel for shows during the week. This tour with the Shows on a Thur.s & Friday is why it will be a harder ticket to get IMO. For selfish reasons, as i live about 25 miles from the Venue in Philly, i was hoping the shows would be during the week so i could get tickets for both shows(easier to get a ticket on TM too). I might get shut out this tour, because like others have stated: you probably won't win both NY & Philly tickets. 4 shows so CLOSE to home and i may get shut out. Sucks, but that's life in the big city>LOL

In my unprofessional opinion: do NOT select something like this:
MSG-1 GA
MSG-1 Reserved
MSG-2 GA
MSG-2 Reserved
Philly-1 GA
Philly-1 Reserved
Philly-2 GA
Philly-2 Reserved
Because like a few here have said: you'll be LUCKY to win one, and chances are that will be with your #1 choice(MSG-1 GA in my example). And you'll be wasting the other picks because chances are you ain't winning any of the other choices, especially if you want to go to Toronto or some other shows. You'll just be decreasing your odds.

Since the reserved odds are still at 99%...
I feel like you will be good to go!!!
You may not get your GA tickets,
but it's worth a shot trying because it should be an easy score for the reserved seats as your second choice!!

I was just thinking the same question... Like i did reserved MSG 2 for my first choice n then GA MSG 1 for my 2nd... im thinking now i should do reserved MSG 1 for my second ... seems like its safer to give up on the GA option and do the reserved seat choice if we think more people go for GA??? DO more people do GA?? Ive tried to mix it up in 2013 since this started.
