The Jazz Fest rumours are legit rumours that have come from multiple sources.Pearl34Jam said:
I have no clue. As far as I know the rumors are coming from people who just want them to play there, and therefore are saying it's confirmed.Ribbertron said:Jazz fest rumors. Where are they coming from?

I've only seen the jazz fest rumors as speculation here too. This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0

They announced Wrigley on January 22nd or 23rd I believe? The public onsale wasn't until February 9th. That I'm positive about because it was a really bad day for me! Fingers crossed and good luck when they go on sale!ehbacon said:I just hope they announce a Soldier Field/Wrigley show awhile in advance. I want to go to a show so bad this summer!

and there is the european championship in football (soccer). they toured europe many times during a world or european championship. there is not much else going on as at least half of the continent is watching the footy.BeerBaron said:
Because the dates overlap. The leaked European dates started just before Bonnarroo and continued to early July.Gibson said:I feel like I'm missing something. I know this is ALL speculation, but why do we think a hypothetical Euro leg is hypothetically cancelled?
Again, all hypothetical: If a spring US/Canada tour is moved to Summer, why wouldn't a Summer Euro tour get bumped to fall or even 2017? Why is cancelling it the only theory that I'm skimming over while barely reading the posts?
It is entirely likely that they will return to Europe in the spring of 2017, but bumping the European tour to the fall of 2016 seems very unlikely as Euro tours tend to be centered around a series of spring festival dates.Zurich 00, Bern 06, Verona 06, Milano 06, Torino 06, Pistoia 06, Zagreb 06, Munich 07, London 07, Southside 07, Rotterdam 09, Berlin 09, Manchester 09, London 09, Dublin 10, Belfast 10, London 10, Nijmegen 10, Berlin 10, PJ20 I+II, Toronto 11 I+II, Ottawa 11, Amsterdam 12 I+II, Berlin 12 I+II, Oslo 12, Copenhagen 12, Amsterdam 14 I+II, Milano 14, Trieste 14, Vienna 14, Berlin 14, Leeds 14, Miami 16, Tampa 16, Hampton 16, Columbia 16, Amsterdam 18 I+II, Milano 18, Padua 18, Roma 18, Berlin 18, Barcelona 18, Lisboa 180 -

jazzfest is a tough one for me... 6 hour drive is a bit much, but somehow I still can't justify flying to new orleans from houston... Went last time they played I wentwith my wife, but the overcrowded city, overpriced hotels, over-reserved restaurants, etc made it not that great an experience other than the show itself (good setlist for a festival show)...
that being said: I am taking note of the fact that Jazzfest doesn't have a contractual clause restricting bands from playing in Houston (i.e. VoodooFest, ACL)... maybe there is some truth/glimmer or hope that a date here is possible....... though I'm not going to get my hopes up
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -

I checked my reservations the other night and actually saved about $100 per night in NYC after I noticed a price drop... canceled & rebooked asap!mcgruff10 said:

maybe it wasn't your first time to the city...but i've been 3 times now and done jazz fest once and it's the greatest city in america. nothing even comes close...but i wouldn't travel all the way there just for pearl jam. that city has way to much going on besides any rock band playing.0 -

Half the city of Houston lives here Monday-noon Friday, and drives back to Louisiana/Alabama Friday afternoon. Come lunch time Friday, the I-10 headed east is a parking lot.
With all the money that the city of Houston pumps into the Louisiana/Alabama economies, personnally, I prefer not to give that area of the US my tourist dollars. Especially when I see the attitudes of my co-workers that travel back there every weekend (and the people who live there) towards the Texas economy.
So in short, it doesn't take much for me to have a negative view of New Orleans. That being said, I have been there many times, and have countless stories of people I know well mugged, car jacked, etc around Bourbon street and the French Quarter at respectable hours. I have also have had pleasant experiences/trips there... Jazzfest itself was fine, the festival is well run and the city is clean and respectable that weekend - that being said, I was gouged for every dollar they could bleed out of me... as I would expect to for a high-traffic weekend. No different than Austin ACL weekends or Chicago Lolla weekend... I would make the same complaints about those cities, and I had a great time every occasion i've attended...
blah blah blah.... the short of it is, I would rather fly to Florida and/or Toronto to see PJ than drive to New Orleans....
and I would definitely argue with you labelling new orleans as the "greatest city in america"... that is definitely a stretch.

JazzFest is a great experience, if you DON'T go to see the main headliner all the time...it's crazy crazy crazy at the Acura stage for the Sat. headline acts, just look up pics from Elton John last year. It's much more fun (for me at least) to see acts on the other stages. If you sit at Acura all day to claim a spot you are missing most of what's great about JF.shep said:
