So here comes the time to announce the recipient of the Holy Grail.

I am happy to announce the Elwayvedder and his wife Deb will be receiving this generous donation and I wanted to thank each and everone of you that gave out these tremendous prices and heavily bought raffle tickets.

To me, it shows how great of a community we are part of and that a lot of people that don't know each other can gather a lot of positive energy and help a fellow fan !

I have spoken with Dave and he is more than blown-away ! His search for words was truly amazing and he was in total shock !

His words to all of us were : Thank you all fuckers ! I have summed this up a lot because he will himself come and write something for us here but he needs time to process this whole display of support and love they have been strucked with.

Until then, I will run the raffle on Saturday and post the video after.

I may or may not have squealed with excitement reading that. Dave is one of the most generous and selfless individuals on here. He does some amazing work. Can't think of a better person to receive this!

WOAH. WOW. WOAH
First and foremost, I apologize for my lack of timely response as as life likes to mess with us, this was a very busy day for me work wise and I had to stay off the forums...
with that said, when I called Julien back, after missing his phone calls and heard it was him (not knowing his #), as soon as he started speaking, I lost my breathe...For one, in all the years I have known him, I always thought he would speak French but his English was better than mine LOL (I'm from NJ where we don't speak English...for example, it's "wudder, not water")..
Anyway, I was at a loss of breathe because a few seconds into him talking, I put 2+2 together and realized what was going on...I started shaking. Started to feel the need to cry.
My first reaction or first words out of my mouth I think was something like "you amazing fuckers...or you magnificent fuckers!!".
Here's the thing: my wife and I aren't sure how to handle this..we aren't sure how to accept this...we aren't even sure how to react to such giving and love.
But the thing is, and I can't be any more clearer on it - that the gift we will cherish forever is not the $ aspect of it...but rather the act of giving and love and support. To me that is priceless. There won't be another day that will go by when I won't think of what you all did. All the effort involved, all the communication, all coordination. That is truly priceless to us. Further, most of you I've never met and will probably never meet in person (although I threatened to use the $ to fly to Julien or down to Rog and give them a kick in the ass and then a hug for coordinating all of this...)
but this band has brought us all together. This little world we live in inspired all by the actions and work by the band has us knowing each other more than we know friends that we see in person on a weekly or monthly basis at our homes and in our neighborhoods. It's just amazing when you think about it and this entire action of giving and love here is commentary on that. Just amazing and priceless.
Ok, so to conclude: I still don't know how to accept this...I like to give. It's my being. It's my purpose. Sorry, change that...we don't know how to accept this...we LOVE to give...Unless it's PJ guitar picks, I surely don't like to receive (haha)....so this is something hard for me and my wife to swallow (that's what she said?). I just got out of meetings and only spoke to my wife for a few minutes so we have some ideas on things and hope to make you happy with the end product of all your amazing love, friendship, generosity, time, effort and giving.

Dave, you're the man. Use the money to have fun with your wife or for medical bills. Life is too short for bullshit and worries. You do so much for this community, so this is the least we could do to let you and your wife know that we care. :peace:
