True. And what people don't mention is that front row is the best view, worst sound. I've been on both Mike's and Stone's side years ago and although being that close does have its benefits, sound quality is def. not one of them.
As a veteran concert goer and short person, I've had to stare at a lot of backs. But the remedy to that is merely closing your eyes and enjoying the sound.
I got back of the floor in Buffalo last year. Not great, definitely among the worst in the venue. It's why I only put in for GA's this time around. Which didn't work out either.
Still I'd rather do TM tix than back of the floor 10c tix.
Yes please. 10C should not be giving any 10C members the worst seats in the venues, which is what back of the floor seats are.
Agreed!
But reading all these 5'5" and 5'6" quotes is kinda funny. My wife is 4'11" so if we got stuck there... well it should be easy to figure out. We got GA for Denver so we are just going to hang in the back of GA and hope there is enough space back there so someone's back is not 4 inches in front of her face like it would be if he tried to get up close in GA.

once, i traded 1st tier a mile away from the stage, at key arena, for back of floors. it was a big mistake. i'm not a fan of back of the floors at all.
wings stage level on the left and right is the place to be. 10c has rocked it for us the past few tours. no looking over anyone's head, perfect line of sight, sound is stellar. i stopped 10c floor when they intro'd the GA floor thing.
Even if they brought back floor seats, I'd still take the wings. My membership number is low enough I could get first 10 rows easy. Plus some of you guys are kinda scary so I am not sure I want to be in front or behind you.
At least they have the video monitors now. Who knows what the negotiations with Ticketmaster are like so it may not be possible to get more seating on the sides and the tickets at the back of the floor are bonus.
my buddy once got us tickets to the Tragically Hip. I told him specifically "don't get floor seats unless it's the first 10-15 rows". What did he do? bought row fucking 26. I felt like I was on the other end of a football field from the band. it was terrible.

Would love to have seen them back in the day.
have seen them several times. once row 6 on the floor. that was epic, I tells ya. closest I've ever been at an arena show.

GA floor is the place I ideally want to be (at all shows, not just PJ). But if I can't get that, I'd rather be ANYWHERE before I had a seat at the back of the floor behind GA. I'd prefer being in the rafters or behind the stage.

Had 10c floor seats for Philly 1 in 2013, turned out to be the next to last row on the floor. I could barely see a thing even though I am 6'2" - lesson learned, never again!
I'd rather be back of the floor than 10 rows up halfcourt. I just don't like the angled view and a lot of times you lose some space because people are standing at an angle.
I agree 100%. No club member who wins 10c seats and pays dues each year should get tickets in the back half of the floor. Maybe some of the worst seats in the house.
This request is plausible, understandable, and attainable. Step up 10c, get the job done.

At least you have a view there. You don't from the back of the floor unless you're talking about some people's asses.

I have to agree. I'm not a big fan of being on the floor after about row 20. The plan (angle) between you and the stage gets much flatter. All sorts of stuff impedes your view. Peoples arms, cell phones, tall people etc. I'm 6'2 and I find I don't like being past row 20 on the floor. I have to think hard on rows 15 to 20. Rows 1-15 is not a problem I couldn't imagine being in row 40 on the floor.
I'd rather be in the wings. I usually try and hold off for beside stages tickets (as more get released leading up to a show). I think most concert vets know the back of the floor kind of sucks.
Edit: There is an exception. Complete GA floor. If it's a regular stage setup with the whole floor being GA (no catwalks or anything like that to impede people). Then everyone jams up front and the back half of the floor is empty. I usually park myself right on the cusp of where people density eases (Which would be around 10 or 15 rows). The equivalent of row 20 at a seated show would be pretty vacant at a GA show.
an all G.A. floor would be awesome... imagine all those people pogoing for evenflow, shoulder to shoulder belting out betterman. that would really be an incredible night.. like the shows at the tla or electric factory. that many people coming together. id be totally up for that
I totally agree with this thread. I've had 10C reserved tickets twice and was in the floor behind GA both times. It's not the "back of the floor" like people are saying, but like 5-10 rows behind the back of GA is still not very cool. It's okay for me being 6'0", but my wife is 5'0" and can't see anything. The sound is good because we were like directly center of stage, but it's far enough away that I can't make out facial expressions of the band. I can tell it is them, but I find myself watching the screens more than the stage.
Please 10c, just get the entire sections in the wings!
This is why I love the amphitheaters like DTE near me. Any seat in the pavilion is a good view, and still allows for a smaller GA pit up front.

I was back floor at Barclays and had the best time just jamming along to the music. I know what the band looks like so not to concerned about having a great view of them. They have the monitors to look at. I get why people don't like it though, and would obviously rather be within 20 rows.
After Memphis 14, I never want floor seats again, unless in the Pit. Couldn't see shit and they had people on top of each other. No room to dance, much rather be on 1st level or even behind the stage. It was a fan club ticket.

I would rather have seats side, back-corner of the stage than back floor.
