Thanksgiving dinner tonight. My mother has really crossed a line now, and I'm not sure I can take it anymore. She said that she thinks Harper is very good looking and has really nice hair.

Sorry to hear that her vision is going with age.

I never once presented a world where people don't vote for Harper is a lazy sack of shit.
I took an education as a teenager. Is taking college education a handout? Sure I dropped out, but I think I'm one class short of my two year diploma for broadcasting.
Anyways, the point you all seem to conveniently miss is I AM FINE WITH THINGS HOW THEY ARE. Social safety net is good enough. Somehow that makes me a NEO-con or something? It's laughable.

    you said:

Everyone wants a handout instead of working for it. I will just never get it. I moved out of the house at 18 and my first full time gig was for 6 bucks an hour. This is after dropping out of post-secondary school and wasting taxpayers dollars for four years (not proud of that).

I didn't see anyone calling you a neocon, or anyone saying capitalism is evil.

things how they are is not good enough, apparently. it was good enough for you, but some need more help than you did.

Easy dignin. You quoted me! And in doing so, proved my point. I was merely hypothesizing. Notice the maybe's and "perhaps".
I said nothing about anyone specifically. Little tricks to get overly sensitive people fired up.
This was too tame, even for a polite Canadian political forum

you do realize that's called trolling, right?

So to recap everything... As I take a break from here again as I can only handle so much of the uber left wing rhetoric and silly posts of other people views and links to news stories from the watered down media we already read:

    1) I've never once said who I am going to vote for
    2) you are all convinced I am voting for Harper
    3) some think I am hypocrite because I learned from my mistakes (interestingly, I went to the Lethbridge Food Bank four times as a student and I send them $100 every year, I don't forget)
    4) if anyone doesn't agree with people who think Harper is pure evil that person is wrong
    5) it appears people who lean far to the left are extremely closed minded. To the point of a lack of respect of any view which isn't consistent of their own
    6) not one of you know me, but you have many assumptions.. Good for you
    7) the internet isn't real and all of you are wasting your time arguing here while doing NOTHING
    8) I am fine with the way things are and I don't want to pay more taxes.

No matter who wins and takes hold of the government, you are going to complain. Then you are going to bitch and moan how the corporations run the world. All the while doing nothing because you say stupid shit on Twitter or Facebook, or because you dropped acid and freaked out at age 19. Or it's just because you like to complain.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, running a country is no easy job, many have tried and so few have left office revered (remember when they considered renaming Canada's largest mountain after PET? )
So carry on with your left wing propaganda, I will lurk in the shadows laughing. Most of all though, get out there and vote on the 19th, even if you spoil your ballot, because above everything else I believe in democracy.

Cheers! Oh yeah and 27 days till I see PJ in Santiago. I'm so blessed... What a great country we live in.

I've always found it quite interesting when I see someone comes on the internet to argue and then make fun of people who come on the internet to argue?

and makes jokes about saying "stupid shit" because they did drugs at a young age, something they have previously admitted to.

and pigeon holes people into one ideology and way of thinking, with little to no evidence of that, all the while doing the same themselves.

I think someone lives under a bridge.

again, Canada is one of the lowest taxed countries ... one would know that if they weren't continuing to buy into some conservative indoctrination ...

other things conservatives are trying to brainwash their supporters with:
    * global warming isn't real
    * muslims are bad
    * terrorists hate canada because we believe in freedom and democracy

I just found out over the weekend that even my parents won't vote for harper. they are voting Justin strategically (which many seem to be doing) just to "get harper out".

So now this fahmy guy is back stirring shit.

Fahmy said that, because he is a journalist, he “cannot endorse anyone.”
However, I’m very clear in my gratitude to Mr. Mulcair and (MP) Mr. Paul Dewar and the NDP for their support,” he said.

“You do know who I’m not voting for,” he added. “That’s for sure
    .”

    What a snake.
No wonder he was in jail for subversion.
    He is doing it again.

Is there any particular reason that your only rebuttal to any other voter's preference other than an obviously corrupt conservative party is to start calling everyone childish names and hurling insults. Can you actually endorse your political choices in an educated and eloquent manner?

How can you possibly get what you just said out of what I just posted?
Trudeau did not get him out, neither did hotair.
I am not saying harper did it himself but all factions of the govt had to work together to secure his release.
In turn he repays the current govt with a slap to the face.

Choosing who to vote for or not to vote for is not supposed to be something that can be 'bought', whatever the currency may have been. It is his basic right as a Canadian to choose, without being chastised for it. Also thank you for making my point by not being able to refrain from calling one of the candidates names in your rebuttal. You may not like a candidate or a party leader but when you stoop to calling them names it negates the validity of your statement.

  • Harper at least promises not to raise taxes.
    Turdo will run deficits
New Disaster Party will just do whatever with the economy and see what sticks
The Green Party will propose we recycle all money in order to use it twice.

So to recap everything... As I take a break from here again as I can only handle so much of the uber left wing rhetoric and silly posts of other people views and links to news stories from the watered down media we already read:

Not going to respond to everything you posted, because it was all laid to rest and you picked up the ball and reiterated the same waste of time arguments.
But I live under a bridge yes. Downtown. I drew some blood. This city she loves me

I am not sure why you continue to attack me personally, but I'm generally surprised by your lack of understanding that a young man makes mistakes and your general lack of a sense of humour.

I am not disagreeing with you. This is not a one party over another discussion it is a portrayal of ideals discussion. I may not agree with your view point but you have succinctly laid out why your view points are what they are. You may be calling your fellow voters names but I did not see that with regards to the parties. If I have missed that please excuse the error.

Yes, some intelligent debate would have been enlightening. Unfortunately I was dragged into the mudslinging because I admitted to making a mistake as a teenager. (Choosing the wrong career path, no one else has ever done that)
How that excuses able bodied 25 year olds collecting welfare is beyond me.

But, that is politics. Instead of focussing on the issues it becomes personal attacks. Thank you for participation in Politics 101

Okay. Well... after we declared a truce... I asked you to chew on the following:

Harper's fiscal management is a tale of reversal and failure, not triumph. Department of Finance Fiscal Reference Tables reveal that in the years before Harper became prime minister, there were nine consecutive years of budgetary surpluses, from 1997 to 2007. In eight of those years, Ottawa amassed a surplus of over $79 billion. Yet In Harper's first eight years as prime minister, he managed to produce a deficit of almost $127 billion.

How difficult can it be to balance the books when cuts and closures rule the day and program spending is estimated to have fallen by some $4 billion last year alone? The Harper government has cut almost 26,000 public service jobs in the last three years and they have dropped or axed many important programs and services.

    http://m.thetyee.ca/Opinion/2015/06/12/Harper-Put-Canada-in-the-Red/

He's not done yet: Canada Post, despite reporting large profits, is moving to community mail boxes eliminating a massive number of working class people. The auto industry is getting beat down. And the list goes on.

Instead of demanding corporations pay their fair share of taxes, he shrinks our workforce. Say nothing of compromising our national values as he strokes international interests... he's secretive and he's scandalous.

He can't run his campaign on his body of work because its been poor: instead he resorts to the oldest method- attacking and discrediting his opponents to strike fear in the 'drooling fools'. This is where my original comment was borne from: he's not worth a vote for most... and if someone is voting for him fearing that 'the other guy's not ready yet'... they've bought the tactic.

After such a lengthy term... he should be able to present his work and not even acknowledge his opposition. He can't though. It's simply not impressive.
