Good Country-ish songs!

I'm trying to put together a playlist of songs that stay just the right side of Country - mostly acoustic tunes that have a Country vibe, but don't go for all the cliched lyrics (I know what I mean!) For some reason this kind of stuff really reminds me of this time of year.
Examples would be:
Pearl Jam - Off He Goes, Speed Of Sound
Kings Of Leon - Back Down South, Arizona
Counting Crows - Daylight Fading, Goodnight Elizabeth
Ryan Adams - Magnolia Mountain, Sweet Illusions
Blues Traveler - The Mountains Win Again

what you got?

I don't think the PJ songs you listed there have a country vibe at all. Not even a teeny tiny little bit (okay, tbh, as someone who despises country and absolutely loves Off He Goes, I find your first PJ selection slightly offensive ;) ). But I do remember thinking that people might end up hearing Sirens on some modern country stations (if not adult contemporary). And of course Just Breathe probably qualifies too.

The NY and Dolls I listed are moody, the others not so much. I'll see if I can come up with more. Cool idea by the way.

Not that clearly, since I completely disagree. ;)
But I agree that Drifting has that vibe. And LTRP (which is a mishmash of practically every music genre out there, lol).

I guess that one probably counts a country, not -ish  But I love it. And I'm not big into country at all.

It's in the guitars! You're just in denial and finding it hard to come to terms with the fact you've been a massive country fan all along :p

  • Never listened to the Plant/Krauss stuff before - very nice.

Steven Tyler's got such a great voice (still!) he can sell cheesy cliches better than most :)
