I can't imagine that Pearl Jam thinks this. They just don't care anymore.darthvedder said:
The "loudness wars" have really been detrimental in terms of quality recordings. For the most part, early CDs (80s-early to mid-90s) sound a lot better than recent ones. And a lot of vinyl is ruined because the producers and artists think one mastering fits all formats and they source it from digital.lotsalemon said:
Which is not what you expect, since it was recorded so long ago. You would think shows recorded now would be of the highest quality. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
Got black yesterday, great package and gatefold. Good bit of surface noise on the first listen, although not visibly dirty. Cleaned it and will spin again later. Sounds very nice tho, little more punch than the digital to my ears9/1/00, 4/28/03, 7/5/03, 7/6/03, 7/12/03, 10/1/04, 9/28/05, 5/27/06, 5/28/06, 6/1/06, 6/27/08, 6/30/08, 8/7/08 (EV), 6/12/09 (EV), 10/27/09, 10/28/09,10/30/09, 10/31/09, 5/21/10, 6/15/11 (EV), 9/2/12, 7/19/13, 10/21/13, 10/22/13, 10/27/13, 4/28/16, 4/29/16, 8/7/16, 11/4/16 (TOTD), 8/18/18, 8/20/18, 9/24/21 (EV&Earthlings), 9/26/21, 9/11/2022, 9/14/2022, 9/7/2024, 9/9/2024, 9/12/2024, 5/16/2025, 5/18/20250

So the jury officially says sound quality is sub par?

Let it be up to your ears. Some say it sounds good, others dont. You be the judge, I just felt it could have been a whole lot better. The best Mad Season pressing of late is the Live at the Moore; it sounds phenomenal.my2hands said:So the jury officially says sound quality is sub par?

Regular black vinyl here. Agree that the recording could have been better. Sounded a bit muffled and wasn't very crisp.
And I'm not an audiophile by any stretch.0 -
I agree and the LP is even better.2-feign-reluctance said:

To me it's not that big of a deal, the corner of mine was creased & bent as well.I've been buying vinyl forever and sometimes it happens.epie said:Hello everyone. Looking for advice. My vinyl arrived today and I only had a chance to take the wrapper off before I had to head out and noticed front right upper corner of cover creased and bent. Are others finding this and is it considered normal or should I ask for a replacement. Thanks!

Back in black. It's what I ordered, so can't complain. I'm happy that they even did a variant. Makes things more funnerererer! It'd be cool if they did it for the next Vault.1991- Hollywood Palladium, California with Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains -RIP Magazine Show Oct. 6th

Two things to ask you peeps:
- Has anyone from AUS received theirs yet?
- Is the splatter only for the Symphony one, or are people receiving variants for the Live at the Moore? Furthermore, is the splatter the exclusive 10C and all the rest can be found in good music stores?

The Vault series on black vinyl is kinda cool with the black theme going - maybe a grey/black/ or clear splatter or swirl would be a cool match for the Vault records? Like this:

For the Vault series, please just keep it black.
For any other vinyl releases, let them taste the rainbow.0 -

Couldn't you just trade a colored one for a black if you got one? I don't think you'd find it difficult to find someone to trade. I do like the standard black for that release, but wouldn't say no to a white or clear copy either. Plus it would send everyone here into another frenzy, which is entertaining.demetrios said:For the Vault series, please just keep it black.
