Way oversold. Other stuff comes up for New York City tourists. New Yorkers are busy working.
And then you have dumb shits like me who didn't think this thing through and might not want to be on a 2:40 am train back to Boston to get to work (unwashed and somewhat slightly dazed) right before 8:00. (No other trains/buses will allow me enough time to watch the taping and get to Boston in time to catch the last commuter train to the north shore.)I SAW PEARL JAM0 -

A lot of people offering to wait early, but Colbert's ticket site says that the person the ticket's name is in has to be on line before or with guests. Just so people don't go early just to get turned away! Though I don't know how strict this will be enforced:
"If there is more than one ticket in the reservation, the person whose name the reservation is under must be present for his/her guests to join the line. If there is only one ticket, then only the person whose name appears on the ticket may attend.""Sometimes you find yourself having to put all your faith in no faith."

Im thinking the studio holds about 1000 people.
I am also thinking there was 1500 tickets distributed.
This could be interesting.Take me piece by piece.....

Just looked this up-- 400 seat theater. Changed from 1500 seats to 400 seats in the '90s, and remains this way.SPEEDY MCCREADY said:Im thinking the studio holds about 1000 people.

But, not everyone with tickets is a Pearl Jam freak like we are. I would think getting there early would be advantageous, but wait all day? I don't think that is necessary.40+ shows, it is never enough!0

I was just thinking this too. The amount of PJ fans who scored tickets in recent days is probably much less than whomever scored tickets originally. The show is still in its first couple weeks, days even! I'm sure the majority of tickets sold out to non-PJ freaks almost immediately. I'm still gonna get there fairly early, as it would be cool to see them from close and I've got nothing much going on, but not 6AM crazy early. Not too worried!cmm6734 said:But, not everyone with tickets is a Pearl Jam freak like we are. I would think getting there early would be advantageous, but wait all day? Exactly my thinking. The show was sold out for a month before the show even aired. I am sure the limited amount of tickets that opened up in the past few days is small compared to the actual amount total. I am not worried either. Any seat is a great seat in there.samjam said:

I'm surprised the tickets don't say at what time one can start lining up. If I remember properly, for Letterman they gave out colored wristbands with specific time frames to line up. Then they brought everybody into "a line" inside and a couple of guys start making jokes and giving instructions about how to be a good audience member (laugh even if jokes are stupid or no jokes at all, and so forth). They tended to put you in whatever order they deemed OK for the camera although of course, the earlier you get there, the better chances for a decent spot. Then there were the VIPs....cmm6734 said:But, not everyone with tickets is a Pearl Jam freak like we are. I would think getting there early would be advantageous, but wait all day? The more I think about it, the more I think I might need to skip this. Ten hours of travel time plus at least two hours of line time for one song? That's nuts.cmm6734 said:

I think you line up for Colbert, they check your ticket and ID, then they stamp your hand and give you a numbered ticket, then you come back at a designated time, depending on your number. Then you line up according to number, then go in the theater.40+ shows, it is never enough!0

Lets see how Colbert works out
Lets wait for tiki's comments. Colbert might be totally different from what Letterman was
For Letterman, i went to three tapings and always had a specific 15 minute timeframe to line up from the e-mail they sent me. 0 -
No idea how many pair of tickets SiriusXM PJ Radio secured for their contest .. http://community.pearljam.com/discussion/246553/siriusxm-pj-radio-contest-2-tickets-to-see-pearl-jam-perform-on-the-late-show-with-stephen-colbert .. But I think that's it for the online ticket chances over @ https://www.showclix.com/event/TheLateShowWithStephenColb765512 .0

If I read his post correctly, tiki is not going to post a comment, but he'll enlighten you if you shoot him a pm.schapp said:PJArtist said:I know there is no camera policy...but what if you have cell phon
