Why is it much more expensive on pearlja.com than amazon?

Everything is cheaper on Amazon. They can afford a smaller profit margin because of the massive sales volume.

Hmmm, given Mail Innovations' track record, they probably should have been shipped 5 weeks ago if we hope to see it on release day! Fingers crossed that the order status changes from Warehouse to Shipped in the next day or so.

I can't help but take this with a grain of salt. I work for a small retail group, and we have encountered lawsuits from poor performers who were let go, but who sue with accusations of bigotry. The reality is, no one likes being dismissed as a result of poor performance/productivity, and it's human nature to blame all but ourselves when we're penalized for our behaviours. Employees say they're penalized for having children or cancer - I just don't buy that. The temperatures reaching 100 degrees - how are we hearing about this only now? A few short emails to the US Department of Labour and I'd bet there'd be tremendous change in America's largest fulfillment depot.

Also - everything in this article (competitive and stingy, tightly monitored overhead) would suggest these products should be cheaper on Amazon, not more expensive.

  • Hello,

We received word today from our vinyl manufacturer that the MAD SEASON / SEATTLE SYMPHONY / SONIC EVOLUTION Vinyl pressing has been delayed due to extreme weather/heat in Czech Republic.

We expect to receive product soon, and will begin processing orders as soon as the vinyl arrives in Seattle.

You will receive tracking information via email when MAD SEASON / SEATTLE SYMPHONY / SONIC EVOLUTION lands.

    We apologize for the inconvenience,

Live at the Moore is still on schedule then? Or is that being delayed as well?

My friend in NYC received one of those "Ten Club LLC order is in queue for shipping" emails that her Live @ The Moore vinyl is ready to ship.

Yep. it's not about the country. It's about the specific manufacturer. Although not outsourcing it to other countries would be a good idea in and of itself. Isn't it supposed to be a positive thing for American companies to do the "made in the USA" thing, just to support the domestic economy?

QRP and RTI are the best US pressing plants.

    Pallas and Optimal for EU.

I have seen talk that the Live at the Moore was pressed at MPO in France.

"So when it comes to the current state of the vinyl industry’s unlikely resurrection, everyone is happy. And everyone is frustrated."

"More and more people are buying vinyl; sales hit a record 6.1 million units in the U.S. last year. But as demand increases, the number of American pressing plants remains relatively fixed."

"While overall album sales were down again in 2014, vinyl album sales were a bright spot in an otherwise generally bleak sales picture. Sales of the configuration grew by 52 percent in 2014 to 9.2 million copies (up from 6.1 million in 2013). For the seventh straight year, more vinyl albums were sold than in any other year since Nielsen started tracking music sales in 1991."
