I bought a 'stairwalks of Seattle' book. Apparently it takes DHL more than 3 days to deliver a book from Auburn, WA to Seattle, WA. (i think that's worse than mail innovations) .
I was hoping to be racing stairs this weekend, but I know of a few close by to start out.

OK, girl....it looks like you may need my fund raising nazi thing....not yet, but it's in the wings.

Well, you're in luck. I bought a book "Seattle stairway walks"...I live by the second longest set of stairs in Seattle...367. So, maybe this weekend I will go check them out. The entire trail has 495 steps down and 69 up. One run down then up, then back down to finish the walk. Part of the trail is hidden, so that explains me not knowing where it is. I'll bring the dogs.

that would be 367 total...I went up, and on the way down...
It was hot, so I decided to call it at that. I didn't think it was so bad, but my shins are really feeling it. I'd like to go tomorrow, but it's going to be hot 90-something...we'll see.

Rkcndy the heat wave is not your friend. Is there a public building you can do some light training in? Particularly if you are just walking not running up the stairs?

not here in West Seattle...well, that I know of. We kind of put a kabosh on taller buildings. I could train at the Columbia Tower...that building has 76 floors and is the tallest building on the West Coast.
A small part of me wants to run up the stairs...a friend said she wants to do it with me, we'll see.

Need to get coffee mugs going. I have total cost to do this. With shipping to US we are looking at around $8. 2.50 for the mugs and 5.50 shipping. I was thinking 15 a mug which will give us 7 for the cause. Does that sound doable to everyone?
What's happening with the mugs????

I've been working so much, and it's been hot, so sadly Ihaven't worked out as much as I would like. I will be running the Thistle stairs again next week, have family stuff to take care of this week.

I was holding off hoping that the dollar would improve, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen so I'll just have to bite the bullet here. And I want a degenerate mug set if someone would please get on it...
