Because that's about as long as all the closing acts have played at this concert in the last few years. Is it possible they play longer? Of course, and I won't be surprised if they play more in line with 2 hours, in the range of one of their shorter tour shows (if they can, and the venue curfew allows it). Remember, its generally a free show. The expectations are they will play for a shorter amount of time then a normal paid Pearl Jam show and that the set list will be more geared to a casual fan. Should still be great.
I read somewhere that the show times are 3-10pm. Four artists, three of which are headliners (oddly, Coldplay is not a headliner?). Set down, set up, performances for each, plus some random speeches etc. Just doesn't seem like enough time for much beyond 90 minutes.

Below are the headlining sets for the first three editions of this festival. I was at the first show and Neil played only about 70 minutes. Maybe Pearl Jam will play longer but we really have no evidence indicating that.

Wow great user name!
Oh please let it rain today.
Those that can be trusted can change their mind.
I bought tix but am coming from MIL. After hearing it may only be a 90min set I may reconsider. Love PJ but don't have much cash to dispense on a 16 song set list.
Festival site says music 3-10. 7 hours, 4 acts....math is hard
My guess is Ed Sheeran and Coldplay play for an hour with a 30 minute set break in between. Beyonce plays 6:00 to 7:30, which leaves us with Pearl Jam from 8:00 to slightly after 10:00.
That's why I don't care for festival's I've been to many just to get my fix give me an indoor show with one or no opening act That's just my stupid opinion

Not a stupid opinion. I think if they headlined the Gorge for an event like this fans would see more PJ and less fill.

I don't think anyone is going to disagree with you that if they could see Pearl Jam it would be on their own indoors versus a festival.
That said, Pearl Jam is play a festival in Central Park. Gonna be great!

Coldplay said they're playing a short set. Also there's going to be a lot of celebrity speakers. And other important people talking in between the acts
I think the only ones who are going to be disappointed by Global Citizen are those who walk in with unrealistic expectations. This band is awesome, this band always brings it, and on 9/26 they'll rock Central effing Park! How cool is that?
PJ have been known to break hard curfews and being that this is a one time only show, they can afford to go past 10 pm a little bit. If they did break curfew, it would make for a memorable experience, lol.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
Sammi: Wanna just break up?

agreed.

It's not a one time show though. It's an annual show. Blowing curfew this year could impact the permits Global Citizen needs to get for next year. I'd be surprised to see them break this curfew.

Central Park is extremely strict with curfews. Just think of the people who live around the park- they have money and power and the organizers will not want to mess with that. I've never heard of a show going late in the park but I'd love to be proven wrong.
From what I'm reading from past shows, headliners get around 60 minutes. Has it been confirmed PJ will get longer than this or that they are even going on last? When this lineup was first announced, I thought Beyonce would be last.

Usually there are 6 performers. And Coldplay said they would play a short set.
