Thank you for this, B. His wife seems like an ass-kicker (not to mention him, himself).
Love how not only PJ but coffee unites some of us.
Heidi May is actually not Rollins wife but he did say of her once, "Heidi May, the woman who runs my life." Haha! If you get a chance, check out their podcasts some time. They're a riot!

Just for the record, Keurig is brewed coffee.Who Princess said:No, you don't need a water line hookup. It holds a tank of water that it heats up for each cup. You can put a charcoal filter in the tank, the same kind many coffee makers use.
I used to use a Keurig at work but I've gotten to where I just prefer brewed coffee. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
You people rock
I came upon that clip on one of my youtube journeys. They're wonderful!
Gonna order something new today. Instant again this morning!0 -

Haha, thought of that after I'd posted. Guess I should have said a brewed pot of coffee.PJ_Soul said:

And I'm with Leeze, German coffee is the best. Everyone seems to think of Germans as the world's greatest beer drinkers. That may be true but when I visited there was excellent coffee everywhere, even on the train."The stars are all connected to the brain."0 -
Every time Leeze mentions her German coffee I make a mental note to try it out and then I forget lolNYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15

I'm Alive - what coffee do you recommend to drink from their website

try the Cuarenteño
The practices of how the bean gets to your cup should be an AMT thread.
Sorry OP
What about those beans that are culled from the shit of...monkeys, I think?Kopi Luwak is coffee prepared using coffee beans that have been subjected to ingestion and fermentation in the gastrointestinal tract of the Asian palm civet, which is called luwak in Indonesia. Caffeine content in both Arabica and Robusta luwak coffee is lower than in unfermented coffee. Large deformation mechanical rheology testing revealed that civet coffee beans are harder and more brittle in nature than their control counterparts indicating that digestive juices enter into the beans and modify the micro-structural properties of these beans. Proteolytic enzymes cause substantial breakdown of storage proteins.
Kopi Luwak is traditionally made from the faeces of wild civets, however, due to it becoming a trendy drink, civets are being increasingly captured from the wild and fed coffee beans to mass-produce this blend. Many of these civets are housed in battery cage systems which have been criticised on animal welfare grounds. The impact of the demand for this fashionable coffee on wild civet populations is yet unknown but may constitute a significant threat. (from Wikipedia)If I had known then what I know now...

No matter what you use, a permanent gold plated coffee filter is ideal. Paper filters are not only harder on the environment but rob coffee of a lot of it's natural oils. You can pick them up for 10 to 30 bucks I think, but you just wash and reuse it. They last a long time.0

Close Encounters is on right now, and this huge scene with the lights and the mountain and Dreyfuss and Truffaut (love saying his name, by the way) seem much more simple than brewing a cup of fucking Joe.
I've also got that five-note music from the film in my head now.
Damn you, Speilberg!

The mashed potatoes mountain?
I have a Mr. Coffee. It does the job--coffee in the morning! Also a frech press (for when we lose electricity during storms or when I want to be fancy). Am thinking about also getting one of those percolators that you put on stove. Sorry I can't make any more fancy shmancy recommendations, Hedonist.ELITIST FUK0 -
I use a French Press and an Aero Press.
Not a fan of drip coffee unless it's fresh grounds in a funnel filter pour by hand with perfectly temperatured water.
I have a Keurig but only use it if I'm really running late!0 -
Yes, the potato mountain!
Man, I haven't seen this film in ages and loved watching it again. I can see how SS went from this to ET.
Maybe I should just say fuck it, get another Mr. Coffee and assume we'll be good for a year!0 -
