    Are these gap-less?
they're the original mp3s from 2005. 192kbps, some songs merged as one track.
Thanks, but when you rip these (the original files) to CD there's a dead air space between tracks. If I don't find a place to download the re-deited seamless versions, I'll have to do it myself...and I know that's going to take a looooong time.
No one ever posted or made available for download a thing like that (the official mp3's from 2005 tour, converted in wav to eliminate the gaps).. you will not find something like this anywhere, I'm sorry.. but in this thread I described a while ago how to do it for yourself (it's the only working solution that I know of).. it takes more time than just burn the files as they are (like Flac files), but it's the only way to avoid the gap..

Guys, a 25 frame crossfade works well and is a simple solution. You should try it before ou put in too much time.

I still don't know what the heck anyone in this thread is talking about. Is there actually silence at the end of each track, or is MP3 playback gapping being conflated as the issue here? One is an easy fix (Use a player or device with gapless playback), the other is not (Edit each track).

I downloaded the North American leg from Ledbetterman10's site before he took them down. With the exception of Kitchener, all the show were gapless in 192kbps. I haven't been able to find a gapless version of Kitchener on anyone's site or torrent.

yeah I was hoping to find Quebec City and Halifax and the 2 St John's shows gapless, I had them uploaded to youtube, but then I made the mistake of monetizing my account and half my Pearl Jam shit became unplayable, so I want to re-upload the shows to my new youtube account, so if anyone has the last 4 shows of the 2005 Canadian Tour gapless I would be very grateful

Not true, the original mp3's of the 2005 tour, if converted to .wav and burned to CD as they are, will have gaps between tracks, it's guaranteed.. try it and see it for yourself.

I havent burned them to a CD, but when you play them through iTunes or from an iPhone theres no gaps.

I don't they'll burn to a disc gapless though. They're fine on your computer (and presumably, an iPhone or iPod), but Philly 2005 (the only 2005 show I have on disc cause I was there) has gaps at the end of the songs.

Those links that I was hosting on the site were actually borrowed from here (http://rus-pearljam.blogspot.com/p/free-bootlegs.html) so you can download the 2005 shows from there and give them the old college try to see if they'll burn gapless. I'm not sure if they will though. I assume they're the exact same MP3s that I linked to earlier in the thread (http://www.pearljambootlegarchive.com/2005.html) but it's worth a try I guess.

In iTunes, there's also the ability to edit each track length to end (or start) at a time you choose in the file. Too much work for me these days, though.

I wanted to share my little project with everyone.

About a year or so back I went to listen to a 2005 show in my car and was amazed at how awful it sounded. No, it wasn't one of the Rockin In The Free World versions Sleater Kinney was singing on, there were these huge dead-air gaps between every song. Nothing worse when you're listening to a show with the volume up and the crowd and music disappear for a few seconds before every song.

Having a modest knowledge in audio software I thought I would try my hand at fixing the audio. But if I was going to do that, I would need to replace my 2005 set of bootlegs I personally ripped and created artwork for.

I spent a few weeks on photoshop re-purposing all the 2005 bootleg PDF's that were included with the original MP3 Downloads.
    image
I cropped each front cover, modified the spines, and re-typed all the track listings to fit more aesthetically onto a label template I created using the measurements from an existing PJ bootleg. Finding the font proved to be the most difficult part of this process (see above post for font request).
    image
There is a member here who is big into PJ stickers and has created some of his own. I've received one of these fan made stickers and was really impressed with the quality of the work so I approached them to help me out. They were great in doing so.

After some back and forth and me sending a few sample jpg's, they sent me a physical sample of what the label would look like finished/printed on sticker-backs. I was very pleased with the result so we went forward with the entire 31 shows (Tester included) from 2005.
    image
A good friend of mine here is very familiar with all kinds of audio software and obviously love PJ recordings. In just one week, he took all the 2005 bootlegs, converted them to WAV files, spliced the dead air off the ends of every single song, re-attached the songs seamlessly, re marked the songs for tracking and uploaded them all as a torrent. So much work. A huge thanks to him. He pretty much did the heavy lifting.
    image
I started ripping the shows on white-top, blank CD-R's so I could directly print the CD labels on them and not worry about stickers or lightscribing them. I used iTunes so I could include all the Meta Data I wanted for the shows, and then rip the CD's with data text on the CD so where ever these CD's get played, all the track/show information is on the CD's. I also purchased a pack of the cardboard eco-pack CD cases from Neato.com (a site previously discussed in this thread) and when the stickers and cases arrived, I went to work.

I have about 5 shows from the South American leg of the tour left to rip to CD, but for the most part this project is pretty much complete. I've been contemplating on whether or not I should include a stamp on the inside of each cardboard sleeve like NUGS did when Backspacer shows were being released. They had a "Pearl Jam" Backsapcer logo in theirs. I was thinking of creating a stamp and making one unique to 2005. Still undecided though.

Anyway, I would love to hear some feedback or constructive criticism regarding this project. I definitely took my time to make sure I didn't cut any corners and in my opinion, they're just a good as what Pearl Jam has been releasing over the past 7 years officially. Huge thanks again to those who helped me with this project. Certainly could not have done it alone.

    Thanks for taking a look.

They look fn great, I can't imagine any criticism of those. Hell I'd pay you to do the same for me for the NA shows.

Fantastic job! :) The artwork A+. Love it. But gotta ask ..

The audio, how is it? To convert inferior constant bit rate MP3's @ 192 kbps to Wav format. Then edit those Wav files to burn to audio CDR. Would love to hear this & compare.

Only criticism I have is the last photo. Those stickers should be lined up evenly. :p j/k

Wish Pearl Jam was able to officially release their 2005 tour on official silver CD's. Maybe down the road they will. But till then this project you've created, is AMAZING!!

Good job! :) Wish I had a set like this.

gotta check that out when I get home. I've been thinking about how to properly do up the 2005 shows recently.

Great work Scott - on every part of this!!!! I can't wait to get my hands on this, which leads me to ask - is there a torrent link to share? Or is it on Dime or ZomB or TD or...

    Again, GREAT WORK!!!

Also - I'm curious about what sticker labels you're using. Avery? Plain white/matte? Glossy? Thanks again.

The audio is not as good as the later shows released in FLAC. You can hear the difference in the depth of the live sound in these bootlegs but the difference is nowhere near a place where it would deter me from picking up one of these shows to listen to over ones from a different year. Now that the gaps are gone, It's really enjoyable. They sound great and I'm really happy with them.

I thought these shows were on Dime but I can no longer log in there. Don't know why. I've sent an email to the admins about recovering my account.

Did that torrent include the artwork too?

I'm pretty sure the torrent only included the original "CD Tray" PDF's and CD labels that were included in the original downloads.

Man.. they really need to release these in FLAC/CD formats. This was a solid tour.
