July, it's the middle of summer...

Do you still swing on the swings at the park?

Yes. Love to swing. In the back yard too

Did you have a tire swing as a kid?

No :( my parent told me to walk to the park if I wanted to swing (the park was 4 miles away on a busy street with no sidewalk)

Did you live near a beach or lake when you were a kid?

Not really. I lived in the interior of BC. We have a lot of lakes but not really near our town.

What sort of place did you grow up? (small town, big city, rural, etc.)

Both. But my very favorite was a really small ( though not so much anymore.. They have stoplights now.) little mountain town called Idyllwild. It was so small when Iived there that we only had to dial 9-last 4 digits, to call someone in town, and the pay phones in the center of town would take incoming calls, so they were always ringing. At any one given time you could pick one up, and inevitably it would be one of our schoolmates looking for a friend. " Is so and so downtown?"

I grew up in the bay area about 20 minutes outside Berkeley. It was not a small town but what an adventure being a teenager on the streets of Berkeley. Got my first tattoo at 16 there, tried herb there for the first time and so on.

Did you have a favorite vacation spot growing up?

No. Vacations were always really stressful and horrible.

Why the fuck are garbage trucks so insanely fucking loud? And why do they have to come down the block at the ass crack of dawn?

Our family went to Kelowna in the southern interior of BC every summer for a week and stayed in the same motel on the beach (Lake Okanagan). A whole week of playing on the beach, swimming, walking on our own to buy junk food....

If you had the power to go back and change just one action in history so it had a different outcome, what would it be?

I'd maybe have Dev (Éamon de Valera) go over for the Treaty talks in 1921 rather than him sending Michael Collins, who should never have been there and which all lead to the Irish Civil War

same question again (it's a very interesting one)

If I could somehow go back to the 8th inning of game 6 in the 2003 NLCS and make Alex Gonzalez turn an inning-ending double play instead of muffing the ball and allowing the Marlins to score 7 unanswered runs...

    Same question yet again?

This question seems to be getting a lot of air play; I think I'll give it it's own thread so we don't entirely derail this one.

So starting it off....do you think you'll post in the new "What would you change?" thread?

Do you make up excuses to avoid going out and meeting people?
