"This ain't no book you can close
When the big lie hits your eye
    like a big pizza pie".

I can't be the only one annoyed by that - I don't know what the actual lyrics are, but that's what I hear every time I listen to the song & it's driving me completely nuts.

he only sings that line on the dean martin duets record
    ;)

There's nothing about light in the song Cropduster. All I know is that the song is about some gigantic pizza pie flying through the air - off a balcony - possibly in a big city like San Diego or New York & it landing right on someone's face with a triumphant "WhaBOOSH!!" sound. Not just on their face, but the whole pizza pie right in their eye.
    That's amore.

that is so dumb it made me laugh, heartily
    thanks

Little known fact: flying-pizza-song Cropduster was originally known as Crust-copter.
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

    But this ain't no movie
This ain't no book you can close
When the big lie hits your eye.

    Everybody's practicing,....
    Our world's an accident
I was the fool because I thought
I second this, that's ridiculous that he would say that...THAT'S AMORE...
I met my wife here...you can too! Don't lose hope!
  • '...that's amore!' is all I'm thinking reading this silly thread.

Also, some of you are really, really bad at deciphering lyrical meanings, and I'll just leave it at that.
    Having tasted, a life wasted....

....I'll probably only go back a couple more times.

I think that line is in reference to the light from the television hitting your eyes.

Is the comedian that started this thread talking about thats amore?

Seems like the person maybe doesn't realize he's got an old Italian ditty confused with Ed's song...:p ;)
