Maybe Jeff coming to Houston will remind him that PJ hasn't played in Houston since 2003. Twelve years is long enough. A Toyota Center show would be awesome. Hell, how about a summer show at Minute Maid Park. It wouldn't have the history of Wrigley but also wouldn't have to worry about a two and a half hour lightning delay.0

Yes. Yes yes. But only if I could score tickets. Saw Brad at numbers and though it wouldn't seem so, the sound was incredible.KV4053 said:

I've lived here for 37 years, and thus consider myself an expert on Houston's awesomeness or lack thereof.mfc2006 said:Well, Houston's an awesome city.

For clarity: Do you live in Houston, or do you live in Katy? Something tells me I already know the answer to this question...KV4053 said:

If you can't find something awesome about Houston... you're just not trying.
Now the weather that's coming up around the bend I don't look forward to... but deck beers for the next month are gonna be awesome.
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -
I lived there for most of my life & loved the city. I'm looking forward to heading back for a visit sometime this year.KV4053 said:

The weather kills it for the entire metro area. Period.
I'm just glad I travel a lot for work. Houston has two real airports. So there's that.I know I was born and I know that I'll die. The in between is mine.0 -
As a Utah basketball fan, I have heard Coach Larry Krystkowiak say in an interview that he is a big Pearl Jam fan and knows Jeff Ament very well (as well as the rest of the band too). I believe he mentioned their relationship goes back to his Montana days (both as coach and player).

Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
Houston is a great city. I was born there and although most of my life I have lived in the suburbs or a couple hours away, I love Houston. The trouble with Houston is that it is not a touristy place. Great place to live but not necessarily a great place to visit. It is too spread out and there are not enough touristy things to do. So it gets a bad rap from visitors. But as a place to live, I think it is as good or better than most major cities.0

The suburbs of houston do suck. I get that people have to live there to afford certain things/raise kids/whatever, but unfortunately there is 0 culture in a lot of the suburbs. You're lucky if you have a perry's to eat at.KV4053 said:

I live in Houston, and it's great. So many awesome places to eat within short distance, about a 20 minute drive to either airport, close proximity to most all the major concert/sport venues (except the woodlands), lots of local breweries/great beer bars... I've got no complaints for shit I like to do.
but I will agree with you on the weather beginning of may thru end of September.... I hide indoors... and I do miss real winter....Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -
Sorry, but Yexas as a whole.. Blows. I HATED living there! I couldn't WAIT to get back
To OKLAHOMA, I hated Texas so bad, I was happy to see JOPLIN! Then again.. I
DID have to live in San Angelo.. Maybe that's why.. That and the people I worked for just irritated the God loving shit outta me!! ( rich people have no fucking clue, and they tend to think that others are expendable.. These guys were not quite that bad.. But God his daughter was fucking STUPID!!)0 -
the last thing you should do is judge a state by one of its worst cities. i have to work in san angelo, abilene, midland/odessa a few weeks out of the year and if i had to live there i'd be miserable too.
if you live in austin, houston or dfw and can't find your own places to be happy then you're probably just a miserable person. This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0 -
Possible. I just hated that it was soooooooooooo desolate.. Even riding horses was miserable.. For me AND the horse!! And I was assigned a HUGE black Cob/QH mix.. He was so thickly maned that I felt bad for him.. His coat burned in the edges.. Nothing but nothing for mile after mile.. Except a cow or two every four to five hours.. Except during shipping season.. Then there were just thousands of cows.. And the dust.... So I apologize, but I did NOT live in the best city by which to make a fair judgement on Texas.ComeToTX said:the last thing you should do is judge a state by one of its worst cities. i have to work in san angelo, abilene, midland/odessa a few weeks out of the year and if i had to live there i'd be miserable too.
