Anyone??Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
a couple of us have already called dibs on a few for a potential 3rd round. Unfortunately it seems like the 2nd has stalled a bit.Lost In Ohio said:I'd love a Cincinnati boot! (Open request for another round?)

Why are silver pressed CDs better?www.cluthelee.com0
-
The data is physically endoded ("pressed") onto the disc surface, whereas CD-Rs the data is "burned" into a dye layer.2-feign-reluctance said:Why are silver pressed CDs better?

Yep. Pressed discs are made very similar to the way vinyl records are made. Data is laser etched onto a master which stamps out the CD blanks, then the pressed discs are covered in a protective layer, thus embedding the data. Burned discs have a layer of dye, and the data is transferred to this layer by burning microscopic "holes" into it. Plus, the artwork on burned discs is printed by inkjet, whereas pressed discs can be offset or silkscreened.
In layman's terms, it's basically the difference between a factory made CD and burning a CD-R on your computer.Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250 -

I feel like we're in a really good place now...
it's been fun putting this little project together
I've heard from ALMOST everyone who ordered a bootleg in the #1 boxset.
Thanks to EVERYONE for helping me make sure that the CD mailers are correct and ready to be shipped out to you...all we are really waiting on at this point is for the bootlegs themselves to arrive!!
As soon as I get a shipping notification from 10 Club / NUGS,
I will let everyone know that the boots are on the way!!'96: Seattle: Key Arena
