PJ fans are the best. But they're so dependent on the band doing something (touring) that everything gets out of whack whenever there's the hint of anything happening. Enjoy them while they're still around, go see them when you can, rock the heck out, spin the records and bootlegs, and STOP F'N COMPLAINING!!!!!!

I think it's this very realization that has driven up the demand for shows people can get to.

I've been cramming in as many live shows as possible in the last 5 years for this very reason. If I never see another PJ show, I will still consider myself fortunate to have seen the shows I have. That doesn't mean I don't want to see them again. There's nothing wrong with that.

Some people on this forum seem to think there is a problem with a person expressing disappointment over the prospect of not seeing their favorite band in 2015.

I think those are the people who need to get over themselves.

Maybe I'm whining about other posters, but I'm sure as hell not whining about the lack of US dates, it is what it is. I'm ok with it. I would have liked some, but my life will go on & be just fine if I don't see PJ this year.

Nothing wrong in being disappointed in not getting a show in your area and expressing that. But there are more than a few going above and beyond being dissapointed.

Because the fans in South America (edit: LATIN America, sorry) are fucking insane for Pearl Jam. The build up was for them, which is fair! Many excited Latin Americans (and one Greek) today!

I'm surprised to see how little Americans care about South Americans, lol.

I know that Eddie is a huge baseball fan and the band could make history by being the first rock band to ever play a show at Marlins stadium. It doesn't even have to be Miami. I and many other Pearl Jam fans would gladly drive to Fort Lauderdale or West Palm Beach to watch them play.

Pearl Jam isn't a stadium band. They just don't put on their best shows in huge places like that, since their special talent is to make an arena concert feel intimate.... it's impossible to achieve that unique sense of intimacy in a stadium. They should stick to arenas, where they shine the most.

They've played at Wrigley Field and I'm sure that most of the places the places that they're playing in South America are soccer stadiums. If they don't want to play at Marlins stadium they could play at the Heat's arena the AAA. They could also easily do a two night stand at Bayfront Park which is where they last played in Miami in 1994.

I know they have, and I was at Wrigley (it was cool, but there was no sense of intimacy outside of the little GA pit). And I have a strong feeling that the vibe at any SA show is way different from what they can do in the States, although I'm imagining that they don't serve up that intimacy in a soccer stadium down there either... it's just made up for by the way more intense passion of the crowds. They are just better in arenas given their special skill. But I'm not against them playing Miami, lol! I just figure that a stadium is never a good venue for them to choose in North America if you're looking for the best PJ concert experience.

I have always thought of them more as a club band

I've only ever seen Pearl Jam perform in outdoor venues. Every show I've been to since 1998 has been at an amphitheater. I am in such bad need of a live Pearl Jam fix that I'd be willing to see them in any venue. Seven years is too long to go without a Pearl Jam concert.
