People are used to them playing in the US at some point every single year...lotsalemon said:
Jeez.....they played the US in 2013 and 2014, and people are complaining about no US dates?
Good for SA, we should all be happy that they are getting to see the greatest live band on Earth again!
And happy that the band wants to continue touring!0 -
Well they played Vancouver and Calgary but completely skipped Toronto/Montreal. They'res a significant part of the Canadian population that believes Toronto is the centre of the universeLost In Ohio said:

play the US and Canada u fuckers
Absence makes the heart grow fonder.I suppose that's why detroit was so high in demand last year. No Canadian shows east of calgary for the Lightning Bolt tour.

I'd be surprised if they don't play a single show in the US in 2015.... PJ usually has more than one thing to announce in a calendar year.Brane_of_JFK said:

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
Matt is set to record with Soundgarden and just finished touring with them. PJ toured the U.S. hard in 2013-14 at their age and did a nice Europe run. Everyone knows the most they'll do in the U.S. this year is a few shows. They'll rock stadiums in SA, then roll out a U.S. tour in 2016 to time in with their 25th-year anniversary and the HoF. No proof of the latter but it clearly makes sense and falls in line with how they've handled touring the last 10-plus years and celebrated PJ20. I'd rather them play SA this year, have fun, kick out the jams, then scorch the U.S. in their 25th year as a band.Post edited by Blredyellow on0

i find it hard to call a one day event with short sets a festival. Plus there will be way too many people there. If they do play Global Citizens I hope they add surrounding dates as well.Lost In Ohio said:PJ_Soul said:
Because the fans in South American are fucking insane for Pearl Jam. The build up was for them, which is fair! Many excited Latin Americans (and one Greek) today!Brane_of_JFK said:
But if they plan on announcing more stuff, why the build up for only SA shows?PJ_Soul said:
They'll probably announce more stuff at another time. At least a couple of one-offs..... Or maybe an EV solo tour or something.Agg said:Well, this is disappointing. I have no desire to visit SA, so looks like no 2015 show for me.
I'm surprised to see how little American care about South Americans, lol.
Indeed. Where else do people sing along to the guitar parts? That 2011 Buenos Aires show...Betterman...INSANE!!
The only other date I've heard rumored is that NYC festival for September.

Exactly. We are all on this little planet together and should feel happy for the Latin American fans. I'm grateful that the band is reaching out to them and giving them an experience they seldom get - an experience that they so graciously give us every year. Absolutely nothing wrong with letting others play in the sandbox!lotsalemon said:

Yeah kinda. I think it's really us crazy fans who built this one up though. All they did was say there would be an announcement Friday at 10, which there was. A few SA shows. There you go. Now book your trips and buy your tickets so they can announce another tour closer to where you live in a month.lolobugg said:

Anyone complaining about the announcement blows. This is like the 20th time in the last few years crazy fans have built up a Tuesday or an announcement or little birdie tweet, then freak out when the news isn't what they wanted. There was mass hysteria this time (Soldier Field, Alpine, Hawaii!!!) and hundreds of messages ... all for nothing. Chill out, put on a bootleg and be happy for SA. PJ's touring. That's all that matters.

I agree the fans contributed to the hype, but was there a countdown clock for the 10 date US tour last fall?High Fidelity 2000 said:

It is what it is here, people are disappointed at the prospect of not seeing PJ this year, I don't see anything wrong with expressing disappointment. I think the whole 'Americans don't care about the SA fans" sounds like a lot of whining by people who don't have enough to whine about. Just because I'm not doing backflips for people in the 8 cities announced doesn't mean I'm not happy for them.

Did Ten Club put up the countdown clock? I thought that was just some fan made link someone posted.Merkin Baller said:
