might sell more than his albums thoughWhat ever happened to the monogrammed bathrobes imalive was going to produce? Now that would raise some serious $$ for the Wishlist Foundation.
I thought it would be a good idea to offer multiple colors but halifaxxxx insists on nothing but red sox/patriots blue like he wears...I was thinking a baby puke green would also be good, but he's not budging off blue.
next, finding the correct shitty, nappy material has been a challenge. anybody ever stay at the moore hotel in seattle? their towels would be the perfect material....worn out to the point of transparency yet still sandpaper rough. I can't get halifaxxx to commit on material either.
finally.....pricing. Seeing as how these will be OFFI-cal shitty bathrobes, they're not gonna be cheap...and they're also gonna be "limited" so that people can start their flipper threads, bitch about flipper threads and blow up lost dogs....we've seen it with the backpacks....throw on a PJ patch and a H2TM monogram over the right breast (can I say "breast"?) and...WHAM!...instant collectible. That being said, we gotta price them like a 10C gas station jacket or lumberjack coat....we're thinking 100 bucks but just imagine the flip value. shipping will be $20 per robe....sorry, no combined shipping....international rates, you don't even want to know. and of course, "distressing" the robes is gonna make them pricey...plus, we gotta go amuricanmade and those damn unions are playing hardball....we'd be a lot better off having them made in bangladesh but halifaxxx doesn't want to piss off the fanbase (or throw away the opportunity to tour with ted nugent someday).
one more finally....halifaxx is playing hardball with his "cut"....I think wishlist should get the bigger cut but that's not how our tortured artiste sees it.....he says he's got bills to pay (god knows the $$$ isn't going to his back up singers)....stay tuned, we're still ironing out the kinks and also thinking of maybe a "bundle" with a CD of his greatest ripoffs. If I knew how to put up a poll, we could get your input, but I don't so I can't.
I'm digging the idea of pre-school labor....maybe we can get some kind of government vocational aid grant
As far as bills....free range cat litter, high west double rye (imported from utah), rental spot at the RV park for his school bus and a few bucks for his entourage.

I hear they don't teach Home Economics in school any more...the robes would be a perfect re-introduction of the fine art of sewing...kids probably don't even know how to sew a button on their shirt anymore. Can't believe people pay the dry cleaners to do it...$6 to sew on a button?!?!?!The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

I volunteered in my boy's middle school to teach sewing. Family and Consumer science is required for all 6th graders here. They design and sew a pillow, with a machine and finish it with a hand running stitch. No button though.RKCNDY said:I hear they don't teach Home Economics in school any more...the robes would be a perfect re-introduction of the fine art of sewing...kids probably don't even know how to sew a button on their shirt anymore. that's good to hear! I know they were talking about cutting it here...something about budget cuts, they already cut out recess for elementary kids.oceaninmyeyes said:

I was super impressed (and kinda bummed) when I learned that they are teaching how to change the oil in your car and how to fix a toilet in Girl Scouts. I didn't learn much when I was in GS...how to start a fire (with matches), and how to do the waltz.
woo.The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

They teach it in my daughter's middle school, she's in 7th grade...though it's not called home ec anymore, it's got some ridicluous name I can't recall, they learned how to stitch pants back up and sew buttons and made little cases for their cell phones...all by hand, she did very well in that class I was proud of her, and she loved the cooking part of it too. Came home multiple times to her trying to recreate what they had made in class.RKCNDY said:I hear they don't teach Home Economics in school any more...the robes would be a perfect re-introduction of the fine art of sewing...kids probably don't even know how to sew a button on their shirt anymore. Yay! Very glad to know at least some kids are learning that kind of stuff. I always took foods/cooking classes. People would laugh at me until I would bring pie, cakes, pizza into my next class and try to finish eating it before the teacher got there because we weren't supposed to have food in class.PJSiren said:

I didn't like the cooking or sewing part of what was called life skills when I was in Grade 8, I already knew how to cook and sew better than they were teaching me and I wasn't allowed to opt out. I did love the wood working and metal working portions of that course though. Luckily they were during the first semester because I never did finish the second semester of grade 8.Anything you lose from being honest

I remember taking Home Ec in grade nine and we had to sew a pencil case.
Now to think that Cursive Writing is not taught anymore.
Is it the same in America?0 -
I have a 3rd grader and they were taught cursive very quickly. They had to identify the letters, not write them. I asked the teacher about it in conferences and we agreed, it's not really needed anymore but I said - what about signing checks (are they needed) or other paperwork? I think we agreed that most just write 1 letter and a line anywayPJfanwillneverleave1 said:I remember taking Home Ec in grade nine and we had to sew a pencil case.

Forget cursive, handwriting in general is becoming obsolete. And spelling! It's a digital age.....
And who writes checks anymore? A couple years ago, I had my girlfriend's daughter (then 25) fill out a check for me. She just stood there, holding the pen, with this blank stare. She had never written a check.
This is what kind of degenerate I am. My signature is what it is today because I spent most of my high school career practicing my dad's sig for fake notes to get out of class.
If there's one thing, everyone should at least be able to sew a button back on to their own shirt.

I'm 36. I've never been able to sew or tie a tie. I've tried several times to learn both, but my brain won't retain the information.Hobbes said:Forget cursive, handwriting in general is becoming obsolete. And spelling! It's a digital age.....

I don't think cursive needs to be taught anymore. Hell, you can sign your name by clicking submit. It's an obsolete art. You fan still practice good hand writing and grammer without cursive.0 -
