Irish Car Bomb?

Question for all the Americans here. Are you all familiar with a drink called the Irish car bomb and has it ever been suggested over there that it might be a wildly inappropriate name for a drink???

Irish car bombs are dope.
You never really had to begin with.
Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.
It's a reference to IRA terrorist attacks.

Though there are other drink names that could be quite 'saucy'... Slippery Nipple, Buttery Nipple, BJ (as in Blow J*b) -don't need to get a time out. There are probably a bunch of others too- I can't keep up with all the drink names the hipsters come up with.

The idea of naming a drink after a car bomb, Irish or from any conflict, doesn't appeal to me but I'm not a wise-ass bartender who faces a room full of drunks every night. I doubt most people think of the origins for the names of most drinks, such as Bloody Mary being a historical character. I'm sure it was a shock to see it from your perspective.
I have had many, never even occurred to me that it could be offensive until a couple years ago
I only remember a few, but there are some new ones (that I don't remember being around years ago), which more than likely, a hipster created/named it. I.e. 'date grape kool-aid' and 'pink pu§§+'

To the OP...It was Bill Clinton who negotiated the ceasefire and subsequent peace talks so I'm pretty sure Americans have a good understanding of the troubles.
