Wow, What an absolutely amazing movie!

On returning home I found myself listening to Come Back, WWS, and Army Reserve on repeat listens.

The whole self titled album is now in rotation.

I also thought it was a very well done film, that's a no brainer with Clint at the helm.

I haven't seen it, but I've read both positive and negative reviews. It seems to promote the guy his hero for sniping people. I've also seen other war movies where the good guys were getting sniped by the bad guys.

I guess the Hero aspect of a sniper depends on whose side they are on?

I'm sure it's pretty good though. I've like most of Eastwood's recent stuff. I'll watch it when it's available for digital rental.

There are a couple of scenes where they give the guy nicknames for being a good sniper. But the movie as a whole does not make a point of glorifying snipers. We all need to remember that it's just a movie, a real good movie. It's based on a true story with A LOT of Hollywood added.

I haven't seen it so I can't judge yet how good of a movie it is. All I know is that this 16 year old kid I know now wants to join the marines and be a sniper after seeing it.

Yeah his dad took him, I figured he probably misinterpreted the films message.

I saw it Sunday night and really enjoyed it. After the initial credits rolled and the screen went silent, everyone in the theater filed out and literally not one word was muttered by anyone. Complete silence. It was like a funeral and spoke to the power of the film. Did it address all facets of the war? No. Is it possible to in a 2+ hour film? No. Was it a well made movie and one that provoked serious thought? Yes.

It was good. Kind of a generic war movie though. I don't see what all the fuss for it is about.

I have yet to see the movie but I'm sure it won't be as good as the book (typical). I read it and had trouble putting it down as it was riveting. So sad to hear Chris Kyle get murdered by one of our own last year at a gun range.

Was anyone else turned off by the plastic doll they used for the baby? It was crazy obvious.

Interesting to read other people's thoughts on the movie. I suppose the reason for my post was to highlight the subject matter of the movie and how it made me feel once the movie concluded.

The self titled songs I mentioned in my original posts were the songs I wanted to listen to once I got home. Especially after the ending.

There is no PJ in the soundtrack however this movie makes you reflect on the themes of a lot of PJs songs.

I had read the book last year too and thought the book was excellent! It didn't take me long to get through it

This sums it up perfectly. Crazy to me that people are all up in arms that this doesn't address the reasons for the war, think it's pro-war propaganda, etc... It was a story about 1 man's experience. Bradley Cooper was awesome in this movie.
