My guess is that they are touring, but not a full blown tour. The staples (Philly, Boston, LA) and some cities they missed last time around (Raleigh, Houston, Tampa).
That being said, here is a list that I think is possible.
-Staples & Select Cities
Boston
New York City
Hartford
Philadelphia
Pittsburgh
Toronto/Buffalo
Detroit
Chicago
Alpine Valley
The Gorge
San Francisco
Los Angeles
-The South
Phoenix
Houston
Austin
St. Louis
Raleigh
Charlotte
Atlanta
Tampa
West Palm Beach
That's 20 cities + Bonnaroo. I could see Pittsburgh & Toronto being iffy, but more than likely.
So in an election year without a new album you think they'll skip DC, and play Canada?Once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.0 -

(A) They're not playing "Canada". They're playing Toronto. Who doesn't play Toronto these days, seriously? (B) It's just speculation and for fun. I was pulling cities out of my ass and writing down cities that I thought might be played. (C) Yeah, DC is the capital of the country, but playing it during an election year is only symbolic. If they're trying to swing voters, DC really isn't the place. They vote 80%+ for the Democratic candidate, and anyone in the metro area can see 100 speakers a weak that would have a stronger impact on their political beliefs.Pittsburgh 6/23/06

With all the rumours, I find a mini-tour is almost impossible at this point not to have. We have strong rumours that keep popping up from San Diego, Boston, Raleigh, Tampa, and Hartford...those cities have nothing in common other than they're stops on a tour.
They're not part of a political tour (who's trying to sway voters in Connecticut and Boston?)
They're not part of a mini-southern tour while they're there for Bonnaroo (San Diego, Hartford, Boston)
They're not staple cities that they always play, and are just playing for the hell of it (Raleigh? Tampa?).Pittsburgh 6/23/06

You know we get those warm up/opening shows out here in the BIG SKY.

I would like a warm up show in Missoula(a couple weeks before 'roo). Then a tour after 'roo, through late summer/early fall. Wrapping up at The Gorge, of course.1998-6/20, 6/21

as much as i would love them to play austin, they havent since 95. i've heard there is some personal agenda of the promoters in austin and since ACL fest isnt the usual suspects, its possible.
i would switch out austin for dallas , and /or san antonio.mean people suck!
but nice people sw****w0 -
There never has been given any kind of explanation for the different structure of the last tour, i.e. not playing the south, more multiple show cities, etc but I would assume that it was a conscious decision to try to cut down on the negative aspects of touring such as the constant travelling and impact on family. Given that, screw the south again how bout a week long stand IN CHICAGO! We've been shorted with only 2 shows last year, 2 last tour, and 2 close by in Milwaukee. How we supposed to get by on that? Bwahahaha.0

You don't know how fortunate you are.
Try only getting shows in your area once every five years.
