Saw PJ in Florida this past weekend; Pearl Jamz that is!
Options
Since Pearl Jam seem to have forgotten how to get further south than Pensacola all we get to
see in the St. Pete / Tampa area is cheesy PJ cover bands. Nice size crowd. Best part was they only
played old stuff. PJ actually played the same venue back in 92. Got to drink some of faux Eddie's wine.
Not good!!! Maybe someday the boys will grace us with their presence again.

I wasn't in Tampa that year. I did make Lolla and the Bayfront in 94.
How was the band?0 -
I was at the Bayfront show and Orlando Lolla as well. The Jannus Landing show will always be one of my favorites. I was lucky enough to be able to hang out with the entire band before the concert because my girlfriend at the time managed a local record store (Asylum) and was friends with the promoter. We delivered the bands dinner to them and they let us stay backstage (the old Club Detroit) for a while. They signed all of our PJ and MLB stuff and were super friendly. Ed was on a pay phone with his girlfriend most of the time. I'm probably biased but the show itself was great, Ed climbed the old support pole in the front of the stage and dove out into the crowd.
I think they played all of Ten plus Leash and a cover or two. I always wondered it there was a recording of this show, I know there is one from the Bayfront in 94 which I have yet to find a copy of. I still have and wear the Dirty Frank shirt that I bought at the show.0 -
Ha! I know PJ was awesome, but I was curious on how the cover band was. But great story about meeting the band early on. Super cool. Here is the St Pete show from 94. I think you should be able to download it from the little button next to 'play clip'. See if it works. I can always get you a copy.

I kind of miss those days of chaotic pits. I know they are dangerous, but I was 21 during this show, and didn't give a shit.0 -
Pearl Jamz played at my restaurant for NYE this past week, I got to chat with them for a few. At our show he asked for any PJ requests and a woman shouted "In Hiding" and he said that song was a little too deep of a cut for them right now. They did a pretty good job doing the songs they did know.August 17th 1998 Indianapolis, IN
